All unpermitted outdoor burning is prohibited, including:
β€’ Campfires & bonfires
β€’ Yard and household trash burning
β€’ Construction & organic debris burning
β€’ Unpermitted controlled burns

Dry conditions and elevated fire danger mean fires can start and spread quickly. Please help protect our community by following the burn ban.

Please be advised that beginning February 23, the intersection of CR 235 and Newberry Lane will become an all-way stop.

Drivers are encouraged to use caution, reduce speed, and remain alert as the community adjusts to this new traffic pattern. The change is intended to improve safety at the intersection.

Due to an increase in recent fires across Alachua County and extremely dry conditions, the mandatory countywide burn ban has been extended through February 13, 2026 following consultation with the Florida Forest Service.

Current conditions show dangerously high fire risk, including elevated drought and fire danger indices, with little relief from rain expected. As a result, all unpermitted outdoor burning is prohibited, and no land-clearing or broadcast burn permits will be issued while the ban remains in effect.

Residents are urged to remain vigilant and help prevent wildfires.
