Nebo Church

Nebo Church The Nebo Church is located in the Nebo Community of Gibson County near Yorkville TN The Neboville United Methodist Church was started in 1823.

Before there was an actual church building, the people met in their homes for Bible study and had a circuit rider preacher once a month. The first church building was built in 1846 and was made of logs. It served as the school during the week and as church on Sundays. The present church was built
in 1880. Then in the early 1900’s when the roads changed, the church was turned to face the east inste

ad of the south. It took many horses, mules and men to turn the building. Additional Sunday school rooms were
added in the mid 1950’s in addition to hardened floors, and church pews. Currently the Nebo United Methodist Church has an enrollment of approximately 39 members. In 2022, The Nebo United Methodist Church pulled out of the United Methodist Conference and officially became Nebo Church. We are an independent congregation, who loves serving The Lord. Worship time is 9:00 a.m. followed by Sunday school. All visitors are invited to come and worship with us.
