Mount Tirzah Baptist Church is a small country church. We are an autonomous, Christ centered, assembly, of born-again baptized believers. We are. We still love people because God first loved us. We still sing songs right out of the songbook. These songs that were written by saints of old that went through many of the same difficulties in life that we face today. God inspired them to write the soul

stirring words of truth, comfort, conviction and the unmatched love of God. We still believe the Holy Scriptures and accept the 66 books of the old and New Testament as the very words of God. We believe the Bible is verbally inspired in its entirety without error and all sufficient in itself as the only infallible and true rule of faith and practice. We still believe God’s word is the final authority in all matters of life. We believe Jesus Christ is the head of the church as he gave himself for His church. We believe in preaching and teaching to help us grow spiritually to strengthen our relationship with God and to improve our lives. We believe Jesus Christ freely gave himself on the cross to be the substitute for man’s penalty and to become the final sacrifice for man’s sin. Read Matthew 2:1-2

We don’t know exactly how old Jesus was when these ambassadors came to visit. We don’t know how many there were. We don’t know what country they were from. The original texts call them magi. We do know they were wise as they were seeking the King of kings, Jesus Christ the Messiah. If you are wise you either have or will make this same Jesus your Savior and Lord. The first preachers of the gospel were not famous or we would know their names. The first preachers of the gospel were not highly educated just faithful to the task. Their mission was to tell everyone they could that the Savior has arrived. If you are a believer in Christ your mission is to tell everyone you can that Jesus still saves.

Read Luke 2:8-14

The most astounding birth announcement ever was delivered by the angel to some shepherds in a field tending their sheep. I can’t think of a more fitting place to announce that the Lamb of God, His only Son was born. Not only was this a joyous occasion, but it also meant that peace would come to all who will receive the Savior. DAILY BREIFING December 23

Read Luke 2:1-7

Having to travel many miles either on foot or even the back of a donkey would be no picnic for a woman about to give birth. What is even more heartbreaking is arriving at your destination and finding out there is no room for you, your husband or your baby. It reminds me of the song, ”No room, only a manger of hay. No room, He is a stranger today. No room, here in His world turned away. No room. No room.” Flash forward two thousand and twenty-five years and the sad song is the same. Oh, people want to celebrate a baby in a manger but they don’t want Him to be the Savior who is the only one who can keep one from spending eternity in hell. Find room in your heart for the Jesus Christ the Messiah before it is too late.

The most notable person that was ever born in Judea is the only one who existed before He was born. In the little town of Bethlehem, the one who was from everlasting to everlasting, the eternal God in the flesh, the Messiah, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God. He is the Savior the He is the only way to Heaven and a right relationship with God. When He returns He will regain control over all of creation. DAILY BRIEFING December 21

Read Isaiah 7:14 & 9:6-7

Jesus is the only person in history that predicted His own birth. He did so through the prophet Isaiah in the verses you just read. His mother was Mary of Nazareth. She was a virgin when she conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit. She was from the House of David the king, who was promised that an eternal ruler would be one of his descendants. Therefore He would not only be called Immanuel but also: Wonderful, Counselor Almighty God, The Everlasting Father, the prince of peace. Yes Jesus is God in the flesh who was born of a woman and He is the Savior of mankind. All that come to Him for salvation are no loner enemies of God, but become a child of God. John 1:11-12, He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.

Read Matthew 20:29-34

Many people followed Jesus to see the show. Some followed Him because He is the Christ. Those in the first group didn’t really cared about others. As long as they were getting their Jesus Jollies they weren’t concerned about mercy. While they tried to push the blind beggars aside, Jesus drew near to them.
