Look what I found while exploring in our music room at the church this evening. I love it! Children’s worship songs on 78s! 💿

Can you imagine teaching children about Jesus with these? Having three decades of Children’s ministry memories, I thought cds were a challenge! 😂. But you know what, the same Jesus that was taught about from these albums is the same Jesus we teach about today. He hasn’t changed, we have!

If you don’t have a church to go to this Sunday, you are welcome to come join us at Tatumville Baptist Church.

This Sunday (8/30) we will observe the Lord’s Supper during Worship and enjoy a fellowship meal together afterwards. Please join us! Sunday School at 10am, Worship Service at 11am.

🔔 An inviting message from Bro Anthony 🔔

Throughout the 186 years that our church has been in existence, we have been blessed with several amazing men called to serve as our Pastors. Each Pastor has come with his own unique gifts, equipped by God to provide exactly what our church needed for the season they were sent. We are blessed in this current season of our church’s life to have a Pastor who has so much passion for life and for living life for The Lord! Bro Anthony’s heart for service, his passion for family and children’s ministry, his commitment to strengthening our church so that we can continue to be a beacon of God’s Light to the community are contagious!

When asked what he wants people to know about Tatumville Baptist Church, Bro Anthony says, “We’re small, but we’re mighty. Mighty in putting in the work that needs to be done to modernize our facilities to accommodate today’s blended worship styles. Mighty in putting in the work that needs to be done to serve our community, what we call outreach. Mighty in loving and caring for each other, what we call “in-reach”. Mighty in developing ministries for every age. Mighty in prayer for God’s Will and for His favor as we strengthen our church to ensure it lives another 186 years. Mighty because our strength comes from The Lord!”

Our annual Fall mission project, the Mississippi River Backpack Ministry, sponsored by TN Baptist Missions Board, takes place in Sept and October. Come join us Monday evening to learn more about this heart-warming and impactful mission! It’s not your average school supply backpack mission. This project is personal and has lasting impact on the children who are served. You will be blessed by being involved.

🩱Wear clothes that can get wet; Modest swimsuits allowed; tshirt cover-ups over swimsuits preferred
🧖‍♂️Bring a towel
💧Something to cover your car seat with for your wet ride home
🪑 Lawn chair for parents/guardians
🚭 Church property is a smoke-free/vape-free zone

Our Church Family wishes all students, parents, teachers, administrators, administrative and nursing staff, food service staff, custodians, bus drivers, SROs and substitute teachers a blessed, safe and healthy 2026-2027 School Year!

For each month of this school year, we are committing to a month long prayer focus for each of these special groups of folks. We are kicking off the school year with August being Teacher Prayer Focus. For 30 days, we will pray for teachers. We welcome you to join us daily in this prayer focus mission, also!

If you are a teacher and would like for us to pray for you this month, drop your name in the comments. If you know a teacher that you would like to have us pray for, but not sure they would want their name listed, simply write “Unspoken Teacher” and we will cover them in prayers, too.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 reminds us “pray continually”. Join us in covering the 2026-2027 school year in prayer all year long!
