🎶 Music Ministry Mondays 🎶

This week’s featured hymn is the joyful and reassuring classic, “Leaning on the Everlasting Arms.” Written in 1887 by Elisha A. Hoffman and set to music by Anthony J. Showalter, the hymn was inspired by the comforting promise found in Deuteronomy 33:27: “The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.”

More than a century later, the message still resonates deeply with believers when we grow weary in uncertain and challenging times. This week’s blended worship version beautifully combines the warmth of traditional hymn lyrics with a modern worship sound, reminding us that timeless truths can continue speaking powerfully to every generation.

One of the hymn’s most beloved lines asks:
“What have I to dread, what have I to fear?”

What a needed reminder for today’s world. When life today can feel overwhelming, unstable, or heavy, we are invited to rest not in our own strength, but in the everlasting arms of God — arms that never fail, never weaken, and never let go. Whether through traditional hymns or modern worship styles, songs like this continue to unite generations around the unchanging faithfulness of Christ. ❤️

🎶 Music Ministry Mondays 🎶

This week’s featured hymn is “He Leadeth Me,” a timeless reminder of God’s faithful guidance through every season of life. Written in 1862 by Joseph H. Gilmore during the uncertainty of the Civil War era, the hymn was inspired by a sermon reflecting on the Lord’s constant leadership and care for His children. The words were later paired with music by William B. Bradbury, creating one of the most comforting hymns in Christian worship history.

This week’s version is beautifully performed by Norton Hall Band, whose modern arrangement gently breathes fresh life into this treasured hymn while still honoring its rich spiritual heritage. This style perfectly reflects the beauty of blended worship — where timeless truth meets a sound that speaks across generations.

The lyric that continues to encourage believers today says:
“He leadeth me, O blessed thought! O words with heavenly comfort fraught!”

In a world filled with uncertainty, changing plans, and unanswered questions, there is peace in knowing we do not walk alone. God’s leadership is not only for the major crossroads of life, but also for the quiet everyday moments where faith is built step by step. Sometimes worship reminds us that we don’t have to see the whole path ahead — only trust the One who leads us. ❤️

We certainly can’t build the future of Tatumville Baptist Church at Mt Tirzah without two very important things:
#1- Above all else, we believe, accept and proclaim the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We give Him all the glory!
# 2- We honor our past and build upon it for our future.

Today, we are reminiscing from memories found in the 1984 and 1990 Church Directories, shared with us by Ms Jean Austin. See anyone you know? Tag and share! Enjoy this walk down memory lane and keep the memories coming with any pics of Mt Tirzah through the years that you are willing to share with us!

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13

This scripture embodies the spirit of Memorial Day. It mirrors both Christ’s sacrifice and the selflessness of those we honor today.

🎶 Music Ministry Monday 🎶

This week’s featured hymn is the treasured classic, “’Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus.” Written in 1882 by Louisa M. R. Stead after experiencing deep personal tragedy, the hymn was born from a season in which Stead learned firsthand what it meant to fully trust God even in heartbreak and uncertainty. Her words have since comforted believers for generations with their gentle reminder that faith grows stronger when we lean fully on Christ.

This week’s version comes from Norton Hall Band, whose beautiful blend of traditional hymns with a fresh modern worship sound helps bridge generations through music. Their arrangement reminds us that while styles and instruments may change over time, the truth of the Gospel — and the comfort found in these timeless lyrics — never changes.

One of the most beloved lines says:
“Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him! How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er.”

In today’s fast-paced and uncertain world, those words still ring true. Faith is not simply built in mountaintop moments, but through daily experiences of God’s faithfulness in ordinary life. Sometimes the sweetest worship comes when tradition and renewal come together — honoring the foundation of faith while inviting new generations into meaningful worship experiences. ❤️

🎶 Music Ministry Monday 🎶

This week’s featured hymn is the beloved classic, “I Stand Amazed.” Written in 1905 by Charles H. Gabriel, this powerful hymn was originally titled “My Savior’s Love.” Gabriel wrote more than 7,000 gospel songs during his lifetime, many centered on the overwhelming grace and love of Christ. More than a century later, this hymn still moves hearts with its simple but profound message: Jesus loves us more than we could ever fully comprehend.

One of the most treasured lines declares:
“How marvelous! How wonderful! And my song shall ever be…”

In today’s world, it’s easy to become distracted by worry, busyness, disappointment, and noise. But this hymn gently calls us back to wonder — reminding us to never lose our amazement at the mercy, sacrifice, and unconditional love of Jesus. Even on difficult days, His love remains steady, personal, and life-changing.

May this week’s hymn encourage you to pause for a moment and reflect on the goodness of God and the Savior who knows us fully… yet loves us completely. ❤️ Enjoy and sing along here: https://youtu.be/tK1AWAwqFy0?si=7yS52OW_OHqj9Edy
