You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Paul's words cut through the noise of our modern world just as sharply as they did 2,000 years ago. This Father's Day message challenges us to think well about our faith—are we trusting in Christ alone, or have we been deceived into believing we must earn God's grace?
The truth is liberating: Christ finished the work. It's done. The Spirit wasn't given because of what you accomplished, but because of what Jesus accomplished for you. When we add works to grace, we don't enhance the gospel—we undermine it. We rebuild the very walls Christ tore down.
As fathers, grandfathers, and believers, we're called to pass down a faith that rests entirely on Jesus—not on our performance, our traditions, or our religious activities. Think well. Discern truth. Don't be bewitched by anything that diminishes the all-sufficient merit of Christ's finished work on the cross.
