It is with both sadness and anger that we must address the report of Ravi Zacharias’s sexual abuse, which is linked in our full statement (find below or in bio). In November of 2019, Veritas Forum at UD led several other Christian ministries on campus in hosting Mr. Zacharias for a conversation titled “Are Spiritual Truths Exclusive?” It was an important time for our organizations that we hoped would encourage constructive dialogue around the Christian worldview.

We are appalled and angered by the actions of Mr. Zacharias. Although none of the event organizers were aware at the time of any such allegations against Mr. Zacharias, we regret that by providing Mr. Zacharias a stage of influence, we may have unknowingly contributed to the silencing of any victims trying to come forward at that time.

While it is not for us to judge the salvation of Mr. Zacharias, we must state clearly that his actions stand in direct conflict with the God of the Bible. We pray with confidence that despite the horror of sin, people will come to see the message of Jesus Christ for what it truly is- one that brings redemption to the oppressed, dignity to the marginalized, and salvation to the broken.
