Abundant Life Fellowship Church of God In Christ (“ALF”) was organized on Sunday, December 11, 2002. The church began with six members, four of which are still active members. In 2003, while located at 341 Sanford Avenue, in Newark NJ the church experienced great Anointing and Growth. Many auxiliaries were formed: Sunday School Department ( Adult and Youth Classes), Mother’s Board, Men’s Departmen
t, Women’s Department, Youth Department, Music Department with Praise and Worship Team, Adult and Youth Choir. We reached out to the community by way of our Soul Winning Ministry, Food Pantry, Clothes Ministry and began to meet the total needs of man. Our Summer Lunch Program which ran Monday thru Friday during the months of July and August was a great blessing to the community. Our motto ” Same Message, New Methods” was fulfilled!! In 2008 we moved to 82-84 Stuyvesant Avenue, Newark, New Jersey. Our membership increased and we were able to expand our Outreach Ministry. Our Music Ministry expanded to include Mass Choir, Youth Choir and Men’s Choir. Many great times of good food and fellowship were held in the Church Annex. In 2011 we moved to our Satellite Location, here again new members were added and some reinstated. As we continue to minister with a “Spirit of Excellence” we are preparing for the next move of God! In 2012, during our 10th Church Anniversary Celebration, Abundant Life received Two Resolutions from the City of Newark commending us on our ” Service to God and Community”. Councilman Ronald Rice Jr. Presented a resolution during the morning Worship. Councilwoman Mildred Crump presented one during our Anniversary Dinner. ALF is a former member of the South Jersey Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction under the Leadership of Bishop Curley Guidry, Founding Prelate, Bishop Hillmon Moses, and Bishop Tyrone McCombs.
