BRICK CITY CHURCH
OUR MISSION
Building God’s kingdom, brick by brick, stone by stone, one person at a time. OUR VISION
Building God’s kingdom:By making disciples. “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” Matthew 28:19. Brick by brick: In becoming a disciple, a true follower of Jesus Christ, we become “fellow
citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone,” Ephesians 2:19-20. Stone by stone: As we grow on the foundation of Jesus and the Apostles we become part of God’s family. We become part of His house. “You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ,” 1 Peter 2:5. One person at a time: Isaiah 53:6 states, “We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way…” We want BRICK CITY CHURCH to be a place of communion, restoration and relationship with the Lord. Just like Jesus did when he was one earth, we want to seek the lost. “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost,” Luke 19:10. He will meet you where you are in life. “But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul”, Deuteronomy 4:29. Jesus is “the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone”, (Acts 4:11; Psalms 118:22). Let’s build together a life a faith and a relationship with the Lord! OUR NAME
One could say that BRICK CITY CHURCH is named after the city where it was founded, Newark, NJ. The history of the nickname comes from Newark's numerous blocks of housing projects. Those housing projects, however, have been torn down. The church is pretty much, in some areas, torn down, damaged and hurt. There are souls who have no home. We want to re-build and edify God’s kingdom, brick by brick, stone by stone, one person at a time. However, not only in Newark but wherever God leads us. PRIMARY REASON FOR BEING:
1. To share the hope of salvation, which is found only through Jesus Christ and preach His death and resurrection with those who are still finding their way in this world.
2. To teach and demonstrate that the Word of God is still and will always be applicable to our lives.
3. To worship God in Spirit and in truth, in song and service, authentically and creatively
4. To show compassion by making a positive and relevant impact in people’s lives for the honor and glory of Christ Jesus and His Kingdom.
