We were honored to celebrate our ushers this past Sunday. Our ushers play such a pivotal role within our church we not only acknowledge them for being there anytime we call them, but also within our youth community. A lot of our youth start in the Junior Usher Ministry. Where they teach them and give them responsibilities to grow and branch out to other ministries within our church. Making them a model for the younger children who are coming up with grace and kindness. We want to give our flowers to all our Senior Ushers, thank you for everything you do every Sunday, showing up for special services, and just being willing and able to take action in a moments notice

Today I had the honor of preaching the Pastoral Installation Service of Rev. Dr. Michael R. McClain at White Rock Baptist Church in Linden — a son of the house, now standing in the fullness of his own assignment.

I have watched God shape this man. I have seen the prayer, the preparation, and the faithfulness it took to arrive at this moment. And I can say with confidence: White Rock, God has given you a shepherd after His own heart.

“And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.” — Jeremiah 3:15

On behalf of Rev. J and me, our family, and the entire Metro family, we say congratulations to Pastor McClain, First Lady McClain, the McClain family, and the White Rock congregation.

May your shepherding be marked by wisdom, grace, and an abundance of blessing.

We can’t wait for this Sunday, 06/14, at our 9:15am service. We’re celebrating Rev. Dr. David Jefferson, Sr., Esq. & Family Pastoral Anniversary of 31 years.

Rev. Dr David Jefferson has meant so much to so many. Here’s Cory Booker speaking on the role Pastor has played in his family.

Let’s come together to give honor to the family that gives so much of themselves in the community in which they serve and greater!

We love to see love, especially Pastor and family acknowledging the matriarch of the family, Rev. Linda, on how wonderful she is for raising four strong leaders in the community

We also had to honor Our Mother of the Year, Sister Berta Perry. One of our longest members of MBC, who’s been a member since 1955. She was apart of the usher ministry, music ministry and a circle member in the mission ministry. Had all her 11 children baptized here. At 86 years old, she marched at the 50th anniversary of the 1963 March on Washington and walked the entire time!

We hope all mothers enjoyed their day, filled with joy, peace, and love!
