Is your marriage surviving or thriving?

In our modern world, we often settle for "satisfaction," but the Biblical standard is far higher. The Hebrew root Saba (שָׂבַע) means to be sated or filled to capacity: to have an overflowing abundance. While "satisfied" might mean you’re just getting by, Saba is about God filling your union until it spills over into every other area of your life.

The practical takeaway? A thriving marriage doesn't happen by accident; it requires intentional stewardship of your time and heart. Hearing the Word is the catalyst, but scheduling the work is the commitment.

Join Rev. Saafir and Anfal Jenkins, along with guest marriage coaches Harry and LaLoni DeCosey, for the "Beyond Satisfaction" Marriage Workshop. We’re going to dig into how you can shift your relationship from maintenance mode to mission mode.

Some battles need prayer AND a plan.

At Ruach, MATR (Movement of Adult & Teen Resilience) is a safe, stigma-free space for families navigating mental illness: because faith and mental health support go hand-in-hand.

In Scripture, “peace” is shalom (שָׁלוֹם): not just a calm feeling, but wholeness: mind, body, and spirit. That’s our heartbeat: holistic care empowered by the Holy Spirit.

3 reminders for this week:
1) You’re not “less spiritual” for needing support.
2) Healing is a process: sanctification includes your mental wellness.
3) Community is part of the medicine.

If this is your family’s story, you don’t have to carry it alone. Connect with MATR.

In today’s world, we often settle for "satisfactory": a marriage that’s just "good enough" to get by. But God’s design for your union isn’t just maintenance; it’s Saba (שָׂבַע).

In Hebrew, Saba isn’t just being "okay"; it’s being filled to the point of overflowing. It’s a deep, spiritual satedness that comes from a covenant rooted in Christ. We aren't just looking for "fine," we are reaching for the fullness that sustains you through every season.

Join Rev. Saafir and Anfal Jenkins, along with special guest marriage coaches Harry and LaLoni DeCosey, for the Beyond Satisfaction Marriage Workshop. Let’s move beyond the surface and equip our marriages with the tools to truly thrive.

Is your marriage just "good enough," or is it truly thriving?

In Hebrew, the word for "to know" is Yada (יָדַע). It’s more than just knowing facts; it’s deep, experiential intimacy: a soul-level connection. To really "know" your spouse is to understand their heart and burdens in a way that goes beyond surface-level satisfaction.

Most of us settle for being "satisfied," but the "Beyond Satisfaction" Workshop is designed to push past the status quo. We want to help you move toward Shalom (שָׁלוֹם): which isn’t just the absence of conflict, but the presence of total wholeness and harmony in your home.

Join us April 18th in Plainfield for practical teaching and spiritual refreshing. This is a workshop for couples ready to put in the work to see real fruit.

Expect:
1. Communication that bridges the gap.
2. Spiritual alignment for your household.
3. Tools for lasting resilience.

Your marriage is a legacy. Let's build it with intention.

God is strengthening marriages at First Park Baptist Church with Beyond Satisfaction! Is your marriage a "contract" or a "covenant"?

Most of us are taught to chase satisfaction: a feeling that fluctuates faster than the Jersey weather. But we’re reaching for something higher. In Hebrew, the word for Covenant is Berit (בְּרִית), which implies a life-binding bond "cut" in commitment. It’s the difference between a legal document and a spiritual architecture.

Join us at the Park for Beyond Satisfaction - a marriage seminar designed to Rediscover the Heart, the Hope, and the Heat in your marriage. At our Beyond Satisfaction seminar, we’re peeling back the surface layers to address the Iceberg beneath. We’re moving past "roommate syndrome" and into a Palace Standard - a strong and sustainable union that survives the "Pit" seasons of life.

Here is the play:
1. Trade Emotional Feelings for Spiritual Fervor: the steady purpose that outlasts the honeymoon.
2. Address the Iceberg: the hidden dynamics that actually steer the ship.
3. Build for the Pit: strengthen your foundation before the storm hits.

Engaged or newlywed? Come and get the blueprint. Married for decades? Bring your testimony and help us glorify God.

Let’s build a bond that reflects the character of Christ right here in Plainfield.

Faith in Action: It’s more than what happens behind our doors; it’s how we show up for the person next door.

As we reflect on the importance of community during this volatile time, we’re reminded that our highest praise isn’t found in a melody, but in our mobility. In Hebrew, the word for worship is Abodah (עֲבוֹדָה). Interestingly, this same word also means "work" and "service."

In the Kingdom, there is no separation between the sanctuary and the street. When you help a neighbor or check in on a local business on Front Street, you aren't just being "nice": you are performing Abodah. You are working your worship.

Faith in our community looks like active presence. Here is how we can practice Abodah this week:

1. Be the Catalyst: Start a conversation with a neighbor you usually only wave to.
2. Practice Tzedek: Look for a small way to bring "rightness" to your block today.
3. Listen First: Real service begins with hearing the heart of our community.

Worship starts in the Sanctuary, but it is fortified in the Field. Let’s make our community a place where faith is visible.

Stop asking "Why is this happening to me?" and start asking "What is God doing through me?"

There is a massive difference between a victim mentality and walking in Victorship. A victim mentality tethers you to the past, but Victorship is a lifestyle powered by the Ruach (רוּחַ - Roo-akh).

In Hebrew, Ruach means "spirit," "breath," or "wind." It is the divine breath that moved over the deep in Genesis. When you lean into the Ruach, you aren't just surviving: you’re carried by a divine momentum that shifts your perspective.

Worship begins in the Sanctuary, but Victorship is proven in the Field. You weren't created to be managed by your problems, but empowered by the Spirit to overcome them.

How to walk in Victorship today:

1. Audit Your Language: Replace "I have to" with "I get to."
2. Breathe in the Ruach: When pressure rises, pause and invite the Holy Spirit to recalibrate your mind.
3. Own Your Story: You aren't a character in a tragedy; you are a victor in a testimony.

Success isn't about avoiding the battle; it's about who you have with you in the trenches.

Hearing the Word is the catalyst, but scheduling the work is the commitment.

Did you know that in Hebrew, the word 'Avodah' (עֲבוֹדָה) means both 'Work' and 'Worship'? To the Biblical mind, there was no separation between what you did in the field and what you did in the sanctuary. When we align our calendars, we aren't just managing time; we are performing an act of service to the Creator.

Worship begins on Sunday, but it is proven on Monday by how you manage the 'Avodah' you have been given.

Move from Hearing to Harvesting with these 3 steps:

1. Audit Your Time: Does your schedule reflect 'Tzedek' (צֶדֶק): righteousness and right-standing: or distraction?
2. Prioritize Purpose: Block out your most productive hours for the work that fulfills your calling.
3. Commit to Consistency: A plan is a promise. Honoring your schedule is a form of 'Avodah' that proves you are a trustworthy steward.

When we handle time with moral clarity, we are equipped to prosper in all our ways.
