Looking forward to this event from the Newark History Museum !
Within every historic building are stories of the people who lived—and sometimes died—there. This October, the Newark Historical Society takes you beyond the bricks and mortar to explore the lives, legends, and lingering spirits of downtown Newark. This one-hour, family-friendly (but spooky) walking tour reveals where the bodies are buried and unearths the haunted side of local history, sharing some of the tragic tales of the earliest residents of this area (and maybe a few tales of modern encounters with them.) Presented in partnership with the Newark Historical Society, the tour is approximately 0.5 miles, fully ADA accessible, and suitable for most ages. Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. Advance registration is required. Tours are held rain or shine.
Tuesday, October 20 & Thursday, October 29. 7 pm to 8 pm
Fee: $8 RDF: $5
Hours: 7 - 8 p.m.
Location: Tours will begin at the steps in front of Munroe Hall (48 W. Delaware Ave.) between the UD parking garage and Delaware Avenue.
