Brothers and Sisters,

As we reflect on the significance of this day, let us remember that freedom came at a tremendous cost. It was won through the blood, pain, struggle, and sacrifice of our ancestors, whose courage and perseverance paved the way for generations to come. Let us never take that freedom lightly. Instead, may we strive each day to live with purpose, humility, service, and love for God and for our neighbors. As we honor the legacy of those who came before us, let us also commit ourselves to building a future rooted in faith, justice, unity, and hope.

May God continue to bless Guyana, the Caribbean, its people, and the Caribbean diaspora throughout the world.
