Memorial Garden Fundraiser

We’re almost halfway to our goal of $9,500. Giving has picked up pace in the last couple of weeks, which is so exciting and gratifying. Thank you all so much for helping us to reach our goal. "Such a solemn anniversary calls for us to be quiet, to listen for the voice of God speaking in the whirlwind, to repent, to speak the truth in love, and return to the hard work of reconciliation. In our worship, in our care for the neighbor, in acting for justice, in showing mercy – we, too, become repairers of the breach, and in time, God will use our witness and work to restore the streets."

At Lutheran Campus Ministry, we're looking forward to our next fundraiser, scheduled for Saturday afternoon, October 17, to be hosted by St. Philip’s Lutheran Church, located at 5320 Limestone Road in Wilmington. The Rev. Bill Gohl, our bishop, will reprise his role as auctioneer.

Thank you! I'm reaching out to see whether you (or a committee, congregation, or community of which you're a part) may wish to provide something for the event again this October.

We welcome hand-crafted items, baked goods, and event tickets, as well as creative baskets. Past raffle basket themes have included chocolate lovers, gardener’s delight, children's toys, book club, a dog-themed basket, Thanksgiving, Christmas, spa day, snow day, and the like.

We ask that the total value of each basket stay near $50-$60, for consistency’s sake. Please list the items in each basket on a small tag.

Ideally, we'd love to receive completed baskets and items by Thursday, October 8, unless they’re baked goods. If the latter, baked items may be brought fresh to the church during the hour prior to the event—yum!

Please contact me ([email protected]), or our office administrator, Victoria ([email protected]), if you're interested in contributing in this way, or if you have questions. We're happy to make arrangements for pick-up, if that would assist you or your parish. Please spread the word to invite others to join us for food, fellowship, and fun on Saturday, October 17! Even if you aren’t able to donate this year, we're excited to see you at St. Philip’s Lutheran later this fall. ☺️

Gratefully in Christ, Mindy †
