The ISEC Weekend program is established for advancing student learning in the Quran, Islamic Studies and the Arabic Language (QIA). The QIA program offers students the opportunity to learn the sophisticated language of the Holy Quran and memorize its verses, while understanding the meaning and morals in each Surah. Services provided at the ISEC Weekend program reflect transformational teaching practices that promote full student engagement, through communication and collaboration. Our QIA curricula are aligned to CISNA standards and the innovative methods used by our experienced Al-Azhar graduate instructors incorporate 21st century strategies and digital tools that make the QIA classrooms at ISEC a fun and engaging learning experience.

ISEC is pleased to announce that we now offer Free COVID-19 Testing for Essex County Residents every Saturday at ISEC new location, 9 Hill Street, Newark, NJ 07102. The test is conducted by the “Meadowlands Diagnostics Medical Lab”.

The Islamic Society of Essex County was open for prayer today at our new address on Hill Street and we look forward to welcoming others! New carpeting should arrive by end of the week and it's exciting to see renovations taking place!

Despite the misinformation being spread, there are so many reasons to be excited about ISEC’s new home on Hill Street, and the newly renovated space will enable us to provide a much broader array of services to our local community!

The prayer hall is conveniently located on the first floor, and will be opening soon for daily prayers. We also look forward to opening for Friday prayers, as Coronavirus restrictions allow. The cafeteria’s hospitality area will allow us to expand our programs to care for and counsel the community, feed the needy and host other gatherings.

The floors above will be used for future activities that support ISEC’s plans for community services, including doctor offices, legal assistance, classrooms, daycare, rehabilitation facilities, a food bank, and more. A unique, outdoor roof-top play area provides opportunity for fun and recreation.

We look forward to occupying our new, improved home at 9-13 Hill Street in Newark this month!

Just two blocks from our former building, the newly renovated and expanded facilities include space for education, prayer and religious services, and plenty of room for service to our community. We will be able to better serve the needs of our community in this modern building.

It is a blessing and an honor for me to ask everyone to come out and support Ibtihaj Muhammad bring her family to support her at the USA Summer Olympics in Rio 2016... Ibtihaj Muhammad is not just a Musim Sister she is our sister (Newark, NJ) Lets all show her how proud we are to have a young dedicated hardworking sister like her as a role model for our daughters and granddaughters to look up to, showing them there hijab can never hold them back.
