The relics of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, the “Apostle of the Sacred Heart,” are being welcomed at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark. Public veneration continues today and tomorrow.

Today, Saturday, Sept. 5: 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Tomorrow, Sunday, Sept. 6: 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

🙏 A special Mass with Bishop Michael Saporito will be celebrated tomorrow at noon.

All are welcome to come and pray before the relics of St. Margaret Mary and take part in this historic opportunity at the Cathedral Basilica.

Today, we welcomed with great reverence the relics of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, whose life and devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus continue to inspire the Church.

We invite you to join us in prayer and reflection as we welcome these sacred relics for a special three-day visitation, September 4–6.

The visitation will culminate in a celebratory Mass with Bishop Michael Saporito on Sunday, September 6 at noon.

Come, pray, and encounter the legacy of a saint who dedicated her life to making the love of the Sacred Heart known.
