What a wonderful time at Trunk or Treat! Thank you to everyone who helped make this event so much fun. A special thank-you to the Larson family for generously sharing their space with us. We are grateful for our church family and community!

1 John 3 talks about the lavishly-loving nature of God.

"See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God, and that is what we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God's children now; what we will be has not yet been revealed. What we do know is this: when he is revealed, we will be like him, for we will see him as he is. And all who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure."

So I think we all have our go-to habits when life feels overwhelming…

👉 Some of us reach for our phones.

👉 Some turn on the TV.

👉 Some stay busy because sitting quietly means having to think about everything that’s bothering us.

And none of those things are automatically wrong.

But I’ve had to ask myself something…

⚠️ Am I giving myself a temporary break from what’s bothering me, or am I actually bringing those concerns before Jesus?

Distraction and peace aren’t the same thing.

We can fill every quiet moment with noise and STILL carry the same burdens when the distractions are gone.

Jesus invites us to bring those burdens to Him.🥹🙏

I don’t want to ever become so accustomed to avoiding the difficult things that I forget where I can bring them.🤎✝️
