One year ago today, the Boulder community was targeted in a violent act of antisemitism. We remember Karen Diamond and all those impacted -- and refuse to accept antisemitism and violence as “normal.”

Keeping communities safe requires directly confronting antisemitism & hate in all forms, building real solidarity, and strengthening the inclusive democracy that protect all of us.

Pride began as a fight simply to live authentically. Thanks to so many LGBTQ+ heroes, we've come far - and there’s much work ahead.

Equality, safety, and the dignity to be who we are — created b’tzelem Elohim — are the sacred values we must always work toward.

"They" are human beings.

As Jews, we know all too well where government propaganda like this leads.

This is white supremacist extremism that inevitably fuels violence.

During we celebrate Arnold Aronson, a visionary leader whose work laid the foundation for lasting progress in civil rights and Jewish advocacy.

In 1945, he became the first Executive Director of what is now JCPA, and later co-founded the The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights. From behind the scenes and in deep partnership across communities, he helped shape some of the most consequential civil rights legislation of the 20th century—including the Civil Rights Act, the Voting Rights Act, and the Fair Housing Act.

Aronson believed that Jewish safety and democracy demand coalition, conscience, and sustained action. Today, his vision lives on in JCPA’s work to build a just, inclusive, and pluralistic society. His legacy continues to guide our commitment to civil rights, racial justice, and the defense of democratic values.

We are still reflecting on our meaningful conversations and event with leaders from across Rhode Island earlier this month.

Thank you to the Jewish Alliance of Greater Rhode Island for welcoming JCPA CEO Amy Spitalnick to speak about the challenges facing our communities — and the importance of building broad coalitions to fight antisemitism, extremism, and threats to democracy.

Amy was joined by JCPA Chair Leslie Dannin Rosenthal and Chief of Staff Jill Dash.

We’re grateful for partners who are helping lead this work every day.

During , we honor Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, whose lifelong commitment to equality helped shape modern American law. As a litigator with the ACLU, she successfully argued landmark cases before the Supreme Court that challenged gender discrimination. As a Justice, she was a steadfast defender of civil liberties, voting rights, and equal protection under the law. Her legacy continues to influence the pursuit of justice and democratic principles.

During , we honor Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel, a leading moral voice of the Civil Rights Movement. Escaping N**i Germany, Heschel brought prophetic urgency to the fight for American democracy. He marched in Selma with Dr. King, declaring, “I felt my legs were praying.” For Heschel, justice was not optional—it was sacred to Jewish values and the safety of all. He reminded the nation that democracy demands both conscience and action.

After last year’s antisemitic attack at the Capital Jewish Museum, we saw partners rally around our community with clarity, compassion, and solidarity.

JCPA helped bring together over 60 civil rights groups to condemn antisemitism and hate and affirm a shared commitment to civil rights and inclusive democracy — making clear that targeting Jews over Israel is antisemitic and it is unacceptable.

As our movement has long understood: none of our communities are safe unless all of our communities are safe.

One year ago, Sarah Milgrim and Yaron Lischinsky were murdered in a horrific act of antisemitic violence outside the Capital Jewish Museum.

Today, we remember Yaron and Sarah and reaffirm a painful truth: when antisemitic hate is normalized, violence follows and all of us are less safe.

As antisemitism and extremism continue to rise, we remain committed to confronting hate, rejecting political violence, and building a society where Jews and all people can live safely and freely.

May Sarah and Yaron's memories be for a blessing.
