This Sunday we talked about apprenticeship with Jesus, not just following him, but learning who you are through him.

Your identity was never meant to come from your output, your title, or how much you accomplish in a day. It comes from who you're being shaped into as you walk with him.

When you know who you are in Christ, it changes how you show up everywhere else, at work, at home, in your relationships, in the hard moments.

This isn't about doing more.

It's about becoming more like him. 🤍

Pastor Branden, your heart for people is felt in every room you walk into. From the very first vision you and Pastor Jenn carried for Res Life, to every Sunday since, you've led with humility, conviction, and a love for Jesus that's contagious.

You've given so many of us a place to call home. A family in faith. A reason to believe that community could actually feel like this.

Today we celebrate you, not just as our pastor, but as a friend, a leader, and a man who continues to chase after God's heart in everything he does.

The one who pauses long enough to pray never stands back up the same.

Something shifts in the quiet.

Something settles that the world kept stirring.

His word wasn't meant to be rushed through, it was meant to be lived in.

Most of us don't lose our identity all at once.

It happens slowly. A comment here. A rejection there. A season that didn't go the way you planned.

And before you know it you've spent years building a life around who you thought you had to be instead of who God already said you are.

But what if you stopped auditioning?

You were not created to earn your place. You were not created to perform for approval.

You were created known, chosen and loved — before you did a single thing to deserve it.

That is not a feeling. That is not a mood. That is a fact that does not move.

Go back to what God said first. 🤍

You were never meant to wear someone else's armor.

We spend so much time trying to live up to who others think we are — their expectations, their labels, their opinions.

And slowly, without even realizing it, we start moving through life in an identity that was never ours to carry.

But God didn't create you to fit someone else's mold. He created you on purpose, with purpose.

The next time the world tries to dress you in its version of you — pause. Get still. And ask the One who knit you together what He says instead.

His voice is quieter than the noise. But it's the only one that's always been telling the truth.
