Christ Disciple International Ministries In Christ Disciples Int'l Ministries, we offer life-changing religious and social service activities to the community free of charges.

Aside from meeting the spiritual needs of our community through vibrant and life-changing activities which include weekly Sunday worship services, expository bible studies on Wednesdays and intercessory prayer meetings on Fridays, we are also run an autonomous Social Services Department headed by seasoned professionals including attorneys, physicians, Accountants, teachers, nurse and social worker

s. We are passionately concerned with the health and other physical needs of our community, particularly, families and children. Thus, in a holistic approach which incorporates several intervention strategies including counseling, advocacies, and technologies' utilization, we implement a broad spectrum of activities designed to foster a strong community, in which empowered families reside, having overcome obstacles that could have prevented them from living a fully independent life and be respected as effective contributors to their communities. These services include: Education and Youth Leadership, Environment and Mental Health, Food and Nutrition, including Immigration and Citizenship.

Ms. Ini and I are excited to invite you to partner with us as we operate our community’s food program, which is adjudged the biggest in north Bronx by the Food Bank for the City of New York. Currently, we support an average of 15,000 household members with essential foods including well above 1,200,000 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables monthly.

We know that we cannot do this alone and ask you to partner with us as we strengthen our program. WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT. Whether it is through prayer, coming to volunteer in our services, helping us get the word out to anyone you know can assist or supporting us financially to pay our monthly rent which is $6242.40 monthly, or lending a helping hand as much as you can with our utility bills’ payment, we would greatly appreciate your support. Computer Instructor needed at Christ Disciples International Ministries, Inc for Senior Computer Literacy Program

Adult computer literacy teachers work part-time as volunteer to teach community members how to use computers. They work flexible hours in the morning, evenings and weekends to accommodate students with unsteady needs. Instruction typically consists of an introduction to keyboarding, the Internet, e-mail and common software, such as Microsoft packages.

•Experience in Instructional Computer literacy and Applications.
•Conduct activities enriched with all aspects of Computer literacy and Application
•Ability to work with adults from a variety of educational and cultural backgrounds
•Patience and flexibility when teaching
•Strong computer skills
•Excellent communication methods to ensure easy grasp of subjects taught and students’ comfortability in asking questions
•Bilingual abilities may be required. We serve communities with large immigrant populations.

We Are Consistently For Good News!!!
We are resuming our next session of the popular FREE Computer Classes for seniors on Monday January 26, 2015. The training is absolutely FREE for seniors and other residents of the Bronx’s Community District Seven (CD #07) in need of computer skills. Classes will run three times weekly on Monday, Thursday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. We have limited space. Registration is first-come-first-served. A few of 2014 Summer Youth Workers from New York City Department of Youth and Community Development assigned to Christ Disciples International Ministries. They were supervised to facilitate Computer Literacy Classes for seniors. They, also, were involved in the campaign to raise awareness of the risk factors for diabetes in the Bronx, which culminated in a Community Health Fair. More than three hundred people participated in the Health Fair and received free food and helpful health information.

Recently, with technical assistance from The Food Bank for the City of New York and funding from the Mario Batali Foundation we have established the Community CookShop - a family-oriented health and nutrition program which engages 40 families - parents and their children twice weekly - Wednesdays and Saturdays - to prepare recipes using nutritious ingredients that are supplied by the Food Bank and Mario Batli Foundation. Together participants acquire skills to maximize their food budgets, learn tips for maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and prepare tasty recipes developed by Chef Mario Batli.
