Happy Birthday, Navy!!!
251 and counting!!

October 13, 1775: The U.S. Navy was established when the Continental Congress authorized the acquisition of America's first armed naval vessels, creating what is now celebrated as the U.S. Navy's official birthday. Jews have served in the Navy from at least Uriah Levy in the War of 1812 and through every major engagement since.

Last week, JWB was honored to spend time with students at The Jewish Theological Seminary - JTS and Hebrew Union College to talk about the unique and meaningful path of Jewish military chaplaincy.

JWB-endorsed active-duty chaplains, together with the JWB Director, shared their experiences and spoke with students about what it means to serve our country while supporting the Jewish spiritual needs of those who serve.

For those seeking a career grounded in purpose, service, and Jewish values, military chaplaincy offers a truly meaningful way to serve both our nation and our people.

We are grateful to JTS and HUC for welcoming us and for helping prepare the next generation of Jewish leaders. 🇺🇸✡️
