Greetings ambassadors..

“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; And in his law doth he meditate day and night.”
Psalm 1:1-2 KJV

1. Psalm 1 begins with a choice
The psalm opens:
“Blessed is the man…” — Psalm 1:1
The Hebrew idea behind blessed carries the thought of a person who is truly flourishing, spiritually prosperous, and walking in the right direction under God.
Notice that the psalm does not begin with possessions, position, or popularity. It begins with direction.
Your direction determines your destination.
2. The progression of compromise
Psalm 1:1 gives us three movements:
“Walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly”
→ “Nor standeth in the way of sinners”
→ “Nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.”
There is a progression:
Walk → Stand → Sit
What begins as walking near something can eventually become standing in it, and what we stand in long enough can become the place where we sit and become comfortable.
This teaches us that spiritual compromise often happens gradually.
3. The righteous person's delight
Psalm 1:2 gives the contrast:
“But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.”
The righteous person is not merely someone who avoids bad things. He has developed a hunger for God's Word.
There is a difference between:
Reading the Word occasionally
Knowing the Word intellectually
Delighting in the Word
Meditating on the Word
Living.

As we go through this day stay focused.
