В навечерието на Неделята на всички български светии Светият Синод на Българската православна църква – Българска патриаршия публикува свое официално изявление по повод „София Прайд 2026“, напомняйки православното учение за човека, семейството и християнския нравствен живот и отправяйки призив за духовна трезвост, отговорност към младото поколение и вярност към спасителната православна вяра.
On the eve of the Sunday of All Bulgarian Saints, the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church – Bulgarian Patriarchate has published an official statement regarding “Sofia Pride 2026,” reaffirming the Orthodox teaching on the human person, the family, and Christian moral life, and calling for spiritual sobriety, responsibility toward the younger generation, and faithfulness to the saving Orthodox faith.

Българската православна църква – Българска патриаршия неизменно свидетелства за Божията любов към всеки човек и призовава всички към живот според светото Евангелие, в чистота, добродетел и вярност към Божията воля. Грижата за духовното здраве на народа, за бъдещето на децата и за съхраняването на християнските ценности е неотменна част от нейното служение.
В тази връзка Светият Синод не одобрява и се противопоставя на провеждането на „София Прайд 2026“ и изразява своето несъгласие с идеите и посланията, които се популяризират чрез това събитие. Православната църква изповядва, че човекът е сътворен от Бога като мъж и жена и че семейството, основано на благословения брачен съюз между мъж и жена, е естествената и богодарувана среда за живот, любов, раждане и възпитание на децата.
С тревога наблюдаваме опитите възгледи и модели на поведение, несъвместими с християнското нравствено учение, да бъдат представяни като равностойна алтернатива на установения от Бога ред за човешкия живот. Особено обезпокоително е, когато подобни послания се насочват към деца и младежи, които все още изграждат своята ценностна система и личностна идентичност. Грижата за младото поколение ни задължава да напомним думите на нашия Господ Иисус Христос: „Горко на света от съблазните, защото съблазни трябва да дойдат; обаче горко на оногова човека, чрез когото съблазън дохожда“ (Мат. 18:7).
Затова се обръщаме с особено внимание към родителите да бдят над духовното и нравственото възрастване на децата и да ги възпитават в уважение към християнските добродетели и семейни ценности. Безразсъдно е възрастните да оставят младите хора без ясни нравствени ориентири в свят, изпълнен с противоречиви послания и изкушения. Наш дълг е да им помагаме да изграждат здрава ценностна система, основана на истината, отговорността и уважението към човешкото достойнство.
С пастирска любов се обръщаме както към организаторите и участниците в това събитие, така и към всички наши сънародници. Църквата не отхвърля никого и не престава да се моли за всеки човек, но е длъжна ясно да свидетелства за евангелската истина и да предпазва своите верни чеда от духовна заблуда. Истинската свобода не се състои в утвърждаването на всяко желание или стремеж, а в следването на истината, която освобождава човека и го води към пълнотата на живота в Бога.
Призоваваме всички държавни институции, обществените организации и цялото ни общество да съдействат за утвърждаването на брака и семейството, за укрепването на нравствените устои на народа и за съхраняването на духовните и културните ценности, върху които е изградена българската държавност. Никой народ не може да има здраво бъдеще, ако отслабва уважението към семейството, родителството и нравствените основи, които поколения българи са съхранявали и предавали като свое безценно наследство.
Напомняме, че на 14 юни Българската православна църква отбелязва Неделята на всички български светии. В навечерието на този светъл празник нека си спомним за техния подвиг, за тяхната вярност към Христос и за духовното наследство, което са ни завещали. Недопустимо е в дните, когато почитаме паметта на светците, просияли в българската земя, да забравяме ценностите, за които те са живели, страдали и свидетелствали. Те ни учат, че истинското достойнство на човека се разкрива в светостта, в любовта към Бога и ближния и в стремежа към богоуподобяване. Нашите свети предци са ни показали, че борбата със страстите, включително с плътските страсти, е в центъра на християнския живот. Нямаме правото да превръщаме греховните страсти и наклонности в норма, пример за подражание или идеология. Напротив, трябва да търсим от Бога сили, за да се борим с тях, черпейки с пълни шепи от благодатната съкровищница на Църквата в нейните свети Тайнства.
Да подражаваме на подвига на всички български светии, за да пребъдем като народ, верен на своите духовни корени и на спасителната православна вяра. Нека по техните молитви Господ да дарува на народа ни мир, духовна трезвост и единство, да укрепва българските семейства, да закриля децата и младите хора и да ни води по пътя на истината и спасението.
Заедно да ги възпеем като наши небесни застъпници:
„Чествайки вашия почитан събор и празнувайки светата ви памет, светци, просияли изсред българите, ние усърдно ви молим: молете Господ за всички и най-вече за вашите родственици – да се запази българската земя от всякакви беди и народът да се утвърди навеки в православната вяра, та като поживеем мирен живот, заедно с вас да получим вечното отечество в блаженото царство на Христос Бог.“ Амин.

The Bulgarian Orthodox Church–Bulgarian Patriarchate unfailingly bears witness to God’s love for every human person and calls all people to live according to the Holy Gospel, in purity, virtue, and faithfulness to God’s will. Care for the spiritual health of the people, for the future of our children, and for the preservation of Christian values is an inseparable part of her ministry.
In this regard, the Holy Synod does not approve of and opposes the holding of “Sofia Pride 2026” and expresses its disagreement with the ideas and messages promoted through this event. The Orthodox Church professes that the human person was created by God as male and female and that the family, founded upon the blessed union of marriage between a man and a woman, is the natural and God-given environment for life, love, the bearing of children, and their upbringing.
We observe with concern the attempts to present views and models of behavior that are incompatible with Christian moral teaching as an equal alternative to the order established by God for human life. Particularly troubling is when such messages are directed toward children and young people who are still forming their system of values and personal identity. Our concern for the younger generation obliges us to recall the words of our Lord Jesus Christ: “Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes” (Matthew 18:7).
Therefore, we address parents with special concern, urging them to watch over the spiritual and moral growth of their children and to raise them in respect for Christian virtues and family values. It is irresponsible for adults to leave young people without clear moral guidance in a world filled with conflicting messages and temptations. It is our duty to help them build a sound system of values founded upon truth, responsibility, and respect for human dignity.
With pastoral love, we address both the organizers and participants of this event, as well as all our fellow countrymen. The Church rejects no one and never ceases to pray for every human person, but she is obliged clearly to bear witness to the truth of the Gospel and to protect her faithful children from spiritual delusion. True freedom does not consist in affirming every desire or inclination, but in following the truth that sets a person free and leads him to the fullness of life in God.
We call upon all state institutions, public organizations, and our entire society to contribute to the affirmation of marriage and the family, to the strengthening of the moral foundations of our people, and to the preservation of the spiritual and cultural values upon which Bulgarian statehood has been built. No nation can have a healthy future if respect for the family, parenthood, and the moral foundations that generations of Bulgarians have preserved and handed down as their priceless inheritance is weakened.
We remind everyone that on June 14 the Bulgarian Orthodox Church celebrates the Sunday of All Bulgarian Saints. On the eve of this radiant feast, let us remember their spiritual struggle, their faithfulness to Christ, and the spiritual inheritance they have bequeathed to us. It is unacceptable, in the days when we honor the memory of the saints who shone forth in the Bulgarian land, to forget the values for which they lived, suffered, and bore witness. They teach us that the true dignity of the human person is revealed in holiness, in love for God and neighbor, and in the striving for likeness to God.
Our holy forebears have shown us that the struggle against the passions, including fleshly passions, is at the center of the Christian life. We have no right to turn sinful passions and inclinations into a norm, an example to be imitated, or an ideology. On the contrary, we must seek from God the strength to struggle against them, drawing abundantly from the grace-filled treasury of the Church in her Holy Mysteries (Sacraments).
Let us imitate the spiritual struggle of all the Bulgarian saints, so that we may remain as a people faithful to our spiritual roots and to the saving Orthodox faith. Through their prayers, may the Lord grant our people peace, spiritual sobriety, and unity; may He strengthen Bulgarian families, protect children and young people, and guide us on the path of truth and salvation.
Together let us praise them as our heavenly intercessors:
“Celebrating your honored assembly and keeping the memory of your holy feast, O saints who shone forth among the Bulgarians, we earnestly beseech you: pray to the Lord for all, and especially for your own kinsmen, that the Bulgarian land may be preserved from every calamity and that the people may be established forever in the Orthodox faith, so that, having lived a peaceful life, we may together with you receive the eternal homeland in the blessed Kingdom of Christ God.” Amen.
