Paulist Seminarians

On Tuesday, November 4th, Andrew Ouma, Joseph Solomon, and Marvin Ruano were installed as Acolyte and Lectors, respectively. Fr. John Ardis, Vice-President of the Paulist Fathers, presided at the Mass.

An Acolyte is entrusted with the responsibility to serve at the Altar during Mass, and to assist in the distribution of Holy Communion. Lectors are entrusted with the proclamation of God's Word during the Sacred Liturgy.

This marks a significant step forward in their journey to the priesthood, as they are entrusted with serving at the Lord's table and proclaiming His Word to the Christian People.

Please keep Andrew, Joseph, and Marvin in your prayers as they continue their discernment of God's will for their lives.

As part of our Formation, Paulist Seminarians spend one year away from studies at one of our foundations, where they immerse themselves in full-time ministry with the People of God.

This week, our Brother, James Marquez, completed his pastoral assignment at our Mother Church, the Church of St. Paul the Apostle in New York City, and will return to Washington DC to complete his studies at the Catholic University of America.

Please remember to keep James and all the Paulist Seminarians in your prayers as we continue to discern God's will for our lives, and seek to entrust ourselves more and more deeply to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Five years ago today, on May 25, 2020, Paulist Fr. Rich Colgan entered eternal life.

At the time of his death at age 68, this kind and good priest was our director of novices here in Washington, D.C.

A cancer survivor, Fr. Rich died of complications from COVID-19 at the end of the horrible second month of the pandemic.
