Efrem Smith reflects on the life and work of the late John Perkins in his new article, John Perkins: The Justice and Reconciliation Prophet.

“Recently, the world lost a great evangelist, a catalyst for Christian Community Development, and a theologian who articulated a deep biblical understanding of the gospel for a racially divided nation. I first heard Dr. John Perkins preach as a teenager at the Soul Liberation Festival, an outdoor revival of sorts put on by Park Avenue United Methodist Church of Minneapolis in the late 1980s. I was in awe of this small but powerful Black preacher, hunched over with his eyes closed, presenting reconciliation as the central idea of the gospel of Jesus Christ.”

On March 3–4, leaders from across City to City North America gathered in Miami for Anthology, our second National Fellowship Gathering.

More than a conference, it was a shared experience, marked by stories, friendship, prayer, and a renewed vision for what it means to be the Church in a fractured world.

Visit citytocityna.com to learn more about City to City's growing work to catalyze a Gospel movement across the cities of North America, led by the Holy Spirit and grounded in Christ’s call for the unity of His Church.

Day Two at the CTCNA National Fellowship Gathering reminded us that this gathering has truly been an anthology! A collection of stories, wisdom, and shared experience from leaders across our network.

One reflection that stayed with with us came from Dr. Brandon O’Brien. Instead of looking through people, he challenged us to learn to look at people. When we slow down to listen and engage someone’s story, it builds connection and the kind of solidarity we have been exploring together.

Grateful for a meaningful second day together!

🔥 Day One at Anthology is in the books!

As Felipe Assis reminded us in his opening address, we gather here together for three reasons: to celebrate the collaborative work already happening, to strengthen and encourage one another in our shared calling, and to be equipped for what lies ahead.

Gospel movements in cities require deep collaboration among kingdom leaders, and for us, that collaboration is not just strategic, it is theological. It flows from the gospel itself and from Jesus’ prayer for unity among his followers.

Thankful for an incredible first day in Miami. Looking forward to all that Day Two will hold!

A single voice cannot tell a collective story. 📖 We’re living in a moment where it feels easier to pretend we’re together or to give up on each other altogether. ANTHOLOGY is our attempt to build something sturdier. True solidarity isn’t one voice or one tribe or one lane. It’s a collection. Different stories. Different disciplines. Different kinds of work. All bound together by a shared responsibility.

In just a few weeks, we're excited to welcome to the conversation many voices from across North America: Abraham Cho, Dr. Zoe Shaw, Dennae Pierre, Trip Lee, John Onwuchekwa, Mike Kelsey, Brandon O'Brien, Katie Molla, Rich Pérez, James Roberson, Jordan Rice, Derrick Puckett... and more!

This is a moment you won't want to miss. Meet us in Miami, March 3-4 for ANTHOLOGY, as we gather for the 2026 City to City North America National Fellowship Gathering.

We’re inviting leaders from across North America to slow down, reconnect, and wrestle with one defining question of our time: how do we practice solidarity without tokenism, fear, or collapse, and instead cultivate trust, mutuality, and shared life?

Join us for ANTHOLOGY, March 3–4 in Miami for two days of conversation, reflection, and re-alignment around the work of gospel renewal in our cities.

March is Women’s History Month—a meaningful time to shine a light on the reality of violence against women.

We’re deeply grateful to Nilza Oyola, Executive Director of City to City Miami, for courageously sharing her personal story, a gospel-centered vision of hope, and a powerful call to action in her new article, “Preaching Sensitized to Violence Against Women: A Call for Hope & Healing.”
