Central Baptist Church is a dynamic, multi-cultural church in the bustling Upper Westside of Manhattan. Central Baptist Church is an oasis in the city; we are "The Friendliest Church in New York” because Central Baptist welcomes all people regardless of race, national origin, or socio-economic status. Central Baptist is home to Wall Street executives and local grocery store clerks; to committed married couples and to strong independent singles; all of whom are united in a common goal to see Christ exalted in their lives. We are a people who try to live out the Bible and the teachings of Christ in everything that we do: we are Bible-teaching, Bible-believing, and God-glorifying. Our desire at Central Baptist Church is to become a caring, learning, praying, culturally diverse community of dedicated and joyful believers of Jesus Christ who proclaim His word truthfully, worship Him genuinely, and share His love passionately with each other and our neighbors here and throughout the world.

There is value in being in the room together! 💙✌️

Hebrews 10:24–25 reminds us to keep gathering and to encourage one another toward love and good works. That is part of what Sundays are for. We worship, hear the Word, see familiar faces, meet new ones, and make space to encourage each other for the week ahead.

What is something you wish churches talked about more openly?

Faith touches every part of life, so the conversations we have at church should be able to address what people are actually dealing with. That includes relationships, money, work, mental health, parenting, grief, doubt, loneliness, and plenty of things that do not always make it into a Sunday morning conversation.

Tithing can feel complicated when money is already tight. We understand that.

Giving is an important part of our faith, but we also know that people walk through different financial seasons. If you are not able to give financially right now, there are other ways to contribute to the work happening at Central. Pray with us. Give your time. Serve where help is needed. Use what you are good at to help someone else.

Showing up for people usually happens in small ways. A phone call you have been putting off. Giving someone your full attention. Helping without waiting to be asked.

This week, choose three ways to be more intentional with the people around you. Check in on someone. Make time for a conversation without rushing it. Pay attention to where someone could use an extra hand.

Jesus taught us to love our neighbors, and that becomes real in how we treat the people right in front of us. Who could use a little more of your time and attention this week?
