Lent is almost halfway over, so it's time to think about Holy Week and Easter, the most important and moving week of the church year! Each of these services is unique, so we hope to see you at many of them as you can attend!
Sunday, March 29 is Palm Sunday. Join us for a special service at 10:30 am, including an outdoor procession and a dramatic reading of the Passion!
On Wednesday, April 1, often called Spy Wednesday, we'll offer a service of Tenebrae (literally, darkness) at 7:00 pm, combining ancient liturgy and music with modern electronic instruments and featuring Francois Couperin's work, "Lecons de Tenebres"
Thursday, April 2 is Maundy Thursday. We'll have a service at 7:00 pm including washing of feet and the procession to the altar of repose, representing the garden at Gethsemene.
Friday, April 3 is Good Friday. Join us for our service at noon, including the chanting of the passion, the solemn collects, stations and veneration of the cross, and communion from the reserved sacrament.
Saturday, April 4 is Easter Eve or Holy Saturday. We'll celebrate the Great Vigil of Easter at 7:00 pm, which includes the lighting of the new fire, the Holy Sabbath prophecies, the blessing of the font, and the first Holy Eucharist of Easter!
And, of course, Easter Day is on Sunday, April 5. Join us for a festive service at our usual time, 10:30 am!
Meanwhile, all are welcome at our 10:30 am Sunday service for the rest of Lent (and beyond) and for our Wednesday scripture study, soup, and prayer at 6:30 pm!
