On Sukkot, we bring together four very different species: the etrog, lulav, myrtle, and willow.
Each one represents a different kind of Jew—each with different strengths, gifts, and levels of Torah learning and mitzvah observance. Yet the mitzvah is only complete when all four are held together.
That is the beautiful lesson of Sukkot: we need one another.
Like the four species, we may not all look alike, think alike, or contribute in the same way. But when we come together, our differences don’t divide us—they create something greater than any one of us could create alone.
This Sukkot, may we remember that Jewish unity doesn’t mean being the same. It means recognizing that every Jew has a place, a purpose, and plays a vital role.
