HI FRIENDS: Barak (ברך)
It has been a long time since I last posted here.
But here is something for you.
🙌
-Barak (ברך)- Baruch Haba B'Shem Adonai.
I want to share something special with you all today. Those of you who studied "Worship Through the Hebrew Letters" with me are familiar with the first letter, Aleph, and the second, Bet. Many people ask: "Why didn't God begin the Torah—and the world—with the very first letter, Aleph?"
Here is something that—drawing upon the insights of the Rabbis—God, through the Holy Spirit, revealed to me. As you know, Aleph signifies "Leader" or "Father," but it also represents the inward breath. It is a humble, silent letter; we do not even pronounce it, for the breath is drawn inward. The second letter,
Bet, signifies "House"—specifically a *Tent*, the House of God. Now, consider this: who constitutes the House of God today? Our bodies. We are the temple of the Holy Spirit. God dwells within our bodies through His Spirit. The Rabbis tell a story: when God set out to create the world, all the letters petitioned Him, saying, "Please, create the world using me!
(This story comes from Jewish midrashic literature, particularly versions found in Beresh*t Rabbah (Genesis Rabbah), Midrash Tanchuma (on Beresh*t), and elaborated in the Zohar and related mystical texts.)
Before creation, the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet presented themselves before God (often in reverse order, starting from Tav) and each pleaded its case to be the one used to create the world. God found reasons to reject most (often because they also symbolized something negative or harmful).
When it came to Bet, it said it said: “Master of the Universe, may it be Your will to create the universe with me, because through me You are blessed [berakhah] - Barak (ברך) you all the time.
God said: Of course, it is with you that I shall create the universe, and you shall stand at the beginning of the universe’s creation.
-Conclusion from Sky: So God created the world, beginning with *Bet*—for *Beresh*t*. *Bet* and for Barak-To be blessed.
Now, Bet is also the house of Yeshua/Jesus—the Son of God—who lives within us through the Holy Spirit. Therefore, for all these reasons, our bodies exist to bless God at all times—not only when we offer praise through dance. We must bless God, for He created the world with His house and dwell in it.
So that we might bless and praise Him.
In Him we live and move, and have our being. Acts 17:28
