We were blessed to give out 400 🧊 ice cold **cooling towels** & hundreds of 💦 water bottles to neighbors this morning as temperatures SOARED over 100° 🌡️

As we said repeatedly on the megaphone 📢: GOD LOVES YOU, EAST HARLEM!!

We pray our neighbors felt God’s love today through these few hours filled with small offerings of kindness in finding some relief from this heatwave 🥵

It’s HOT! 🔥🥵 So, we’re giving away 500 🧊ice cold reusable cooling towels tomorrow (July 3) at 11 am along with 💦 hundreds of bottles of water & some snacks!

Come grab a cooling towel tomorrow morning & keep reusing it to stay cool throughout this summer!

We are on E 116, between Park & Lex, next to Diana Ayala ‘s office!

100°+ days are tough but East Harlemites are tougher! We’ll get through this 🫂

Additionally, check out the free cooling centers around the neighborhood & the tips to stay cool & healthy from East Harlem COAD — we sent these out in our newsletter yesterday

Please share this post so our neighbors can be helped in this heat!

In the spirit of seeking to love others well this Father’s Day, we pause to acknowledge that this day can be difficult for many.

Here are some practical ways we can show love to, be mindful of, reach out to, & actively be praying for those hurting today.

May God help us as we seek to love others well this Father’s Day.

Pastor Justin reminds us that, as exiles, though we are to seek the peace and prosperity of our city (Jeremiah 29:7) in which we inhabit now, we are also called to be faithful to another land—our true home (Phil. 3:20).

It’s hard to believe that it has been 3 years since went home to be with the Lord. While we will never stop missing him, we continue to benefit from his teachings—how he always made much of Christ, again and again.

We rejoice that one day we will be reunited with Tim + all of our brothers and sisters in Christ, who’ve gone on before us. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)

What great hope we have in the finished work of Jesus! Thanks be to God!

Moms of all kinds: we thank God for you. We honor you & thank you for your love.

We pray for God’s blessings over you today and always:

The Lord bless you
and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace. — Numbers 6:24-26

We know this day can be complicated for many.

If you are hurting today, please know you are in our prayers. We are trusting God’s grace and mercy to surround you in tangible ways this day.

You are loved, seen, and known by God.

David Fernandez reminds us that God’s immense love for us is seen most fully in the finished work of Jesus Christ.

If you have material needs, come to the Community Closet tomorrow from 1:30-3:30 pm. Take what you need—every 1st & 3rd Sunday—no limits ever. We’d love to serve you!

And since it’s the 1st Sunday of the month, we’re ready to accept your excellent-used donations from 1-3 pm, too.

And lastly, a HUGE thanks to our church partners who continue to hold regular donation drives and help keep the Community Closet stocked! 🙏🙌 Our East Harlem neighbors thank you!
