In February 1994,People of Destiny started with a dream.God spoke to me (Ann Marie) to start a church so that people can worship Him in spirit and in truth. People of Destiny exist to carry out Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus replied"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind."This is the first and greatest commandment.And the second is like it:"Love your neigh
bor as yourself."All the Law and the Prophets hang on the two commandments." and Matthew 28: 19-20 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.And surely I am with you always,to the very end of the age". In April about seven people started meeting in our living room for prayer and bible study.In July 1994,we took a step of faith,rented a storefront and launched the church. After two years of growth we outgrew our current space and started looking for a larger space.We eventually bought our 4506 Church Ave.building in 1998. In 2005,People of Destiny planted a church in Queens Village-People of Destiny Restoration Center.We bought the building where our Queens branch is presently located in 2007. In 2009,we launched another church in Trinidad and Tobago-Specifically in Tobago.People of Destiny Kingdom Center.Again,we planted another church in Grenada in 2011-People of Destiny Freedom Center. People of Destiny is a member supported community.Every place we have rented,equipment bought,building bought,project undertaken,conference held has been because of the faithful giving of members of our church. Members are committed to the work of People of Destiny and as a result give regularly and accordingly. People of Destiny are in covenant with other Apostles that provide a network of accountability and safety.These Apostolic relationships serve to strengthen our church as we serve in the Kingdom of God.We are not a lone ranger church.We are supported by other churches such as Divine Destiny Worship Centre (T&T),Apostolic Teaching Centre(Barbados),Freedom Center Int'l(UK),Christ United Church Int'l (Georgia,USA) to name a few. On Thursday May 8th,2014,God spoke two words to me in a vision,"GO BIG."During the next two days,the vision unfolded to me and I understood the words of the Lord.On Sunday May 11th,2014,the Lord instructed our church to "GO BIG ON PRAYER."We did! For 122 days-from May 12-September 30 (with the exception of Sundays)our members gathered at our local church building and prayed from 5-7am.Everything God wanted us to do,unfolded in our spirits as we prayed.The result? Our church is revitalized and growing BIG.God has broken through in our lives and we are breaking all kinds of growth barriers.God has given us His Message and Method for His church and we are on His Mission. There is a move of the spirt over the world today releasing a"MEGA" anointing for "Mega" churches.This grace is not for an exclusive few but for those who will here the voice of the Father and are willing and obedient. Whether your church is large or small,God wants you to begin to pray both deliberately and strategically for it's growth.Look at it this way-regardless of the size of your church,if it doesn't grow it will die. We hope to plant many more churches in the future and we hope you will join us as we do the work of transforming lives and making disciples of JESUS.
