The Ladies Philoptochos Society at Saint George held their first annual tea party following Divine Liturgy on Sunday, May 31! Special Guest Speaker, Gina Sereti, MSN, FNP-BC, board certified endocrine nurse practitioner shared tips on health and wellness. Guests enjoyed lovely sandwiches and pastries, and some won raffle prizes! It was great to celebrate spring with the Ladies Philoptochos!

This past Saturday, we held our first Dating Differently event at Saint George! The evening started with Vespers at Saint George and then the group moved upstairs for a discussion, food, drinks, and music.

We had over 100 attendees at the event, and we saw connections made throughout the evening! We were thrilled with the turnout for this important event.

Iconography update: The big blue wall is no more! We have started the installation of our newest icon of the Second Coming in the east wall in the Narthex. Here is the “Before” photo - we can’t wait to show the “After!”

We are seeking donations for this icon. The total cost of the icon and installation is $26,000. We have received partial donations to date. Consider contributing to this iconography at Saint George!

We’re trying something new: On Saturday, May 30 at 6 p.m., we’re hosting “Dating Differently” at Saint George on West 54th Street.

This will be a thoughtful, faith-centered gathering for Orthodox young adults ages 21-35 who want to approach dating with more intention, clarity, and purpose. Following the structured discussion, the evening will transition into a Singles Mixer with a cash bar. Whether you’re actively dating or just curious, this event is for you.

On Tuesday, May 12, we were blessed to hold our first Midnight Run of St. John the Merciful Outreach Ministry of Saint George on West 54th Street.

We served almost one hundred sandwiches, water, juice, cookies, granola bars, and yogurt. We also distributed socks and clothing to our brothers and sisters.

We would like to thank Father Sophronios for his love and support, as well as our community and our volunteers. We would like to thank Father Micah Breland and Saint John Chrysostom Orthodox Church in Woodside, NY for sponsoring this month's Run. We are deeply grateful for all the support.

Thank you to all who attended Taverna Night on Monday evening! It was a beautiful night at Souvlaki GR on the Lower East Side. We raised funds for Saint George, connected with community members and friends, and enjoyed the food and drinks of Souvlaki GR. We hope you’ll join us at future events!
