Bensonhurst Baptist Church has merged w/Memorial BC of Parkslope, Brooklyn The church is vibrant, but not charismatic. It is inclusive, but not ecumenical. It is uncompromising, but not uncompassionate.

We believe in the doctrines of historic Christianity and use the King James Bible only in our services. We believe in the Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We believe in the virgin birth of the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe they that worship the Father must worship in Spirit and in truth, apart from ritualism and idolatry. We believe in living life in good conscience b

efore God and in the Word of God. We believe the Bible is God’s special revelation and the final authority for mankind to the exclusion of the Koran, book of Mormon, the Vedas, Krishna consciousness, new age and charismatic existentialism, the Pope speaking ex-cathedral, or any of the other cults. We use the traditional King James Version in English. We believe in the spiritual conversion of each individual believer, not by coercion, nor family birth into a religion, nor blind loyalty to a tradition, but as a personal work of the Holy Ghost, bringing a sinner to repentance before God and faith in the shed blood of Jesus. Each person must personally receive him intellectually and spiritually to be born again. We believe the Holy Spirit enters and indwells the believer upon conversion. We believe in practicing the spiritual gifts, but we are NOT involved with the modern tongues movement. We believe the first ordinance, that the believer should be immersed in baptism only after they believe, and have been converted spiritually. Baptism is a symbol of the washing of sins repented of, and of the believers personal identification with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, hence the mode as illustrated in scripture is immersion in the water and then raised out. We believe that man is saved from his sins by God’s grace alone through faith in the substitutionary sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. It cannot be earned by good works out weighing bad ones. However, after spiritual conversion, good works will come forth as fruit from the presence of God’s Spirit in the believer’s life. We believe the second ordinance, the Lord’s Supper, is the Jewish Passover. It is not new to Christianity, but is a memorial supper to the Messiah, the Passover Lamb and the Mediator (priest/go-between) of the New Covenant that God has with Mankind. We believe that when a believers soul is spiritually converted, he has passed spiritually in this life from a state of condemnation unto a state of redemption, God’s gift, thus, he is assured an immediate and joyful passage to Heaven when his body dies. There is no purgatory, since Jesus, the Saviour purges us from all sins legally at conversion and then practically following new birth. All humans from all cultures, who die without the Saviour, Jesus the Messiah, will be ushered into a Just Hell to await final formal Judgment before a Holy, and Fair God to receive a sure eternal punishment for their unforgiven sins. We believe in supporting missionaries abroad and evangelizing the lost in our own country, because the love of God and human souls demands it. We have a message that can save the world and each soul in it one at a time. It is that the God, who made this universe, has provided one way of escape from our pending judgment. In His love, He desires for you to have a real relationship with Him personally, and He has provided the means to Humans to enjoy a real relationship with Him, but it is only through Jesus.
