"Ourstory," continues as we 'rise' to our God given heights in the 'service elevator.' At each floor is a 'plumbline,' which measures the righteousness with which we serve.

This Sunday, July 14th at 11:00 a.m. EST, we explore how God equips us, and the standard by which God measures us, in a message entitled "By Ordinary Measure," which shines light on the ordinary, yet special and extraordinary gifts of the prophet Amos, a 'herdsman and dresser of Sycamore trees.'

Join us, in person, or if too far away, by Zoom. Invite friends and 'enemies' (Matthew 5:43) into this holy space of reconciliation.

We will have light refreshments following service.

JOIN THE CHURCH OF THE COVENANT FOR A SPECIAL SUMMER SUNDAY COMMUNION WORSHIP SERVICE ON AUGUST 6TH WITH GUEST PREACHERS REVERENDS DR. BETTY TOM & PHIL TOM IN PERSON OR VIRTUALLY

Reverend Dr. Betty Tom holds a Doctor of Ministry from McCormick Theological Seminary, Chicago, IL; a Masters of Divinity from Christian Theological Seminary, Indianapolis, IN.. Rev. Tom has served churches in Indianapolis, IN, Mt Vernon, New York and Newark, New Jersey. Rev. Tom is a lifelong learner, social justice advocate and spiritual leader. She has served on the Advisory Board for the Presbyterian Hunger Program and currently serves as a board member for the Institute of Music for Children in Elizabeth NJ. Rev. Tom has written articles, essays and devotionals for the Indianapolis Star Newspaper, Presbyterian Today magazine, PHP Post. She has conducted several seminars and workshops on women in ministry with an emphasis on ministry as a second vocation.

Reverend Phil Tom is a spiritual leader, urban ministry church scholar and a social justice advocate. He is a graduate of McCormick Theological Seminary, Chicago IL. For thirty years, Rev. Phil Tom served congregations in Chicago, IL, St. Paul, MN,Indianapolis, IN, and New York City. Rev. Phil served for five and a half years in former President Barack Obama’s administration as Director of the Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnership office for the U.S. Department of Labor. Rev. Phil currently serves as Executive Director, International Council of Community Churches, overseeing eighty congregations, both domestic and internationally. He also serves as a consultant to the Middle Church in
New York City, NY and on the board for National Center for Law and Economic
Justice. Rev. Phil recently completed a three-year consultant post with Riverside Church in New York City.
