Antioch Baptist Church Harlem, NY

Antioch Baptist Church Harlem, NY "The Church with a Big Heart" On Friday, April 29, 2005, the Lord called our beloved Pastor, the Rev. Dr. Alfloyd Alston, into eternal rest. Rev.
(1)

Alston has left a legacy and it is because of his never ending love for the Lord and for this church that we are able to celebrate today. On Sunday, September 11, 2005, Rev. Alston’s daughter, the Reverend Shon T. Adkins was installed Pastor. Adkins has come to the table with a vision for the Church and a vision for the people of God. It is her foresight to establish a Serving Ministry that not on

ly will serve the members of Antioch but a Ministry that will serve the community in which Antioch stands. Our congregation has grown in leaps and bounds. In the beginning, we were 14. Today, we are more than 50 times that number – 800 on the church roll, of whom some 500 are active members. As we labor in 2012, it is our constant prayer that Pastor Adkins and the Church will be lead by the Holy Spirit and that Divine Guidance will lead us to accomplish those things that conform to the will of our Heavenly Father.

“Whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him.”

Mark 11:22-24
Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.

Keys to Answer Prayer Part 3

07/30/2026

Keys to Answered Prayer —
1. Faith
2. Knowing God's Will For Your Life

First John 5:14–15 says:
This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that and if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of Him.

Answered prayer is not simply getting everything we ask for.
• Answered prayer is trusting that God heard us and believing that His response will always be guided by His wisdom, His love, and His purpose.
• God knows what you need.
• God knows when you need it.
• God knows how to get it to you.
• God knows what needs to change before it arrives.
So do not lose your confidence.
• Keep praying.
• Keep believing.
• Keep standing on the Word.
• Keep trusting God’s timing.

Keys to Answered Prayer: Faith
Today we were reminded that God responds to faith. Faith does not mean doubt never shows up—it means we refuse to let doubt take control. We must stay focused on God’s promises, remain anchored in His Word, and give the problem less attention than we give the Problem Solver.
Take a moment to examine your faith:
1. What am I believing God for?
2. What has God said about it? What scripture can I stand on?
3. What has been distracting me from God’s promise?
Today’s question: What was your biggest takeaway from today’s lesson, and which of these three questions challenged you the most?
Drop your answer in the comments. Let’s encourage one another to keep believing God! 🙏🏽
