Praise the Lord!
Jonathan and Mary invite you to join us tonight for Part III of our Bible study on The Peace of God.
This week we will continue looking at how to have real, lasting peace in the middle of very real life.
We plan to cover three important areas:
• Peace after trauma -how God can heal wounds from rejection, abuse, loss, criticism, betrayal, childhood trauma, and other painful experiences
• Peace during suffering- how to trust God and remain spiritually steady when you are going through pain, loss, sickness, hardship, or a difficult season
• Peace during stress -how to keep your mind, emotions, and reactions under the rule of God’s peace when life feels overwhelming
Many people love God but are still carrying things that disturb their peace.
Sometimes the struggle comes from the past.
Sometimes it comes from what we are suffering right now.
Sometimes it comes from the pressure, responsibilities, uncertainty, and stress of everyday life.
But Jesus offers a peace that does not depend upon everything around us being easy.
Tonight we will study practical Biblical ways to:
• Stop the past from controlling the present
• Recognize how trauma can affect thoughts, emotions, and relationships with God and others
• Deal Biblically with fear, anger, rejection, bitterness, and painful memories
• Trust God when suffering does not immediately make sense
• Keep stress from controlling our minds and reactions
• Cast our cares upon God instead of continually carrying them ourselves
• Stay grounded in prayer and the Word when life becomes overwhelming
• Allow forgiveness, surrender, obedience, and godly boundaries to protect peace
• Learn the difference between having problems and being ruled by them
• Receive the peace of God that passes understanding
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. John 14:27
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
God’s peace is not the promise that we will never face trauma, suffering, or stress.
It is the promise that we do not have to face any of them without His Presence & Help.
Come expecting Biblical truth, practical understanding, healing, encouragement, and help from the Word of God.
Please invite someone who may be struggling with trauma, suffering, stress, anxiety, rejection, grief, anger, painful memories, fear, or difficulty finding peace.
