On January 10, 2026, Omar Lilly was installed as an elder at Providence Baptist Church.

The following morning, Pastor Virgil Walker of Redeemer Bible Church opened the Word of God and preached from 2 Timothy 4:2:

“Preach the word.”

A fitting charge for a newly installed elder—and a needed reminder for every church. The calling is not to entertain, follow the culture, or soften the message, but to faithfully proclaim the Word of God, in season and out of season.

What a joy to gather together as the body of Christ—not only on the Lord’s Day, but whenever possible.

Last Saturday was a wonderful time of food, fellowship, laughter, and singing together. Here we are singing “See the Destined Day Arise,” rejoicing in the finished work of Christ and the cross where our Savior purchased our redemption.

We’re grateful for the sweet fellowship God has given us at Providence Baptist Church.

“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity!” — Psalm 133:1

Yes, we’re a Reformed Baptist church. But loving sound doctrine should produce love for Christ, love for His people, and a zeal to make Him known. Truth doesn’t make the church cold—it fuels worship, fellowship, and evangelism.

One line. Countless opportunities.

It was a privilege to serve our neighbors at The Hub in the South Bronx by providing a warm meal, proclaiming Christ, and placing Bibles and Gospels of John into the hands of those who stopped by our tables. We pray that the Lord would use every conversation and every copy of His Word to bring many to repentance and faith.

Please pray that God would continue to open doors for the gospel and accomplish His saving purposes through the faithful proclamation of His Word.

Flashback to our Good Friday service.

The cross not only reconciles us to God, but it also brings His people together.

After reflecting on Christ’s sacrifice during our Good Friday service, it was a joy to spend time encouraging one another, welcoming guests, and enjoying the fellowship Christ has purchased for His church. May we never take these moments of grace for granted.
