Men on the Move & Women in the Groove

Ever feel like you're facing a battle alone? 😥 King David sure did. Today’s reflection on Psalm 38 feels so relevant right now.

📖 Today's Reading: Psalm 38

David cries out, feeling abandoned by friends and attacked by enemies: "My friends and companions stand aloof from my plague... Those who seek my life lay their snares." (v. 11-12)

But even in his darkest moment, he knew where to turn: "Do not forsake me, O Lord! ...Make haste to help me, O Lord, my salvation!" (v. 21-22) 🙏🏽

This raw plea for help reminds me of the trials facing Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, lovingly known as the "Mother of Peace." Seeing a global leader for peace face an arrest warrant feels like watching the psalmist's pain unfold today. Her supporters see it as a grave injustice against her mission of reconciliation.

Like David, she faces snares and treachery. And like him, our ultimate hope is not in human systems, but in divine intervention. This is a moment for steadfast faith, not despair.

✨ A Call to Spiritual Solidarity✨

For all of us praying for the , let's:

1. Pray Persistently: Actively wait on the Lord, trusting God will answer.
2. Stand in Unity: Let's not stand "afar off" like David's friends. Let's create a shield of spiritual support.
3. Choose Forgiveness: Respond to injustice with a heart of forgiveness to break cycles of bitterness.
4. Be a Witness: Let this trial strengthen our own commitment to peace in our communities.

Join us in this prayer:

Holy One, our refuge and salvation, we lift up all who suffer from injustice, especially Your servant, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon. Surround her with Your protection, grant her strength, and let the truth of her life's work for peace shine brightly. We pray for her immediate release and for justice to prevail. Unite her supporters in faith and replace their anxiety with Your peace. We place our hope in You, our ultimate deliverer. Make haste to help us, O Lord, our salvation. Amen.

🕊️ A Call to Action: The Church's Role in Violence Prevention | Fall/Winter 2025

As the days grow shorter and we approach the fall and winter seasons of 2025, our communities are in desperate need of hope and healing. The persistent challenge of violence across the United States calls for the Church to rise and be a beacon of light, peace, and restoration. Now is the time to prepare our hearts and hands for the work ahead.

The Continuing Challenge of Violence

As a nation, we continue to face complex challenges that fuel violence. Based on recent trends, we can anticipate that issues such as economic instability, a nationwide mental health crisis, and the flow of illegal fi****ms will remain significant hurdles. Violence is not just a headline; it's a deeply personal tragedy that affects families in every city and town, often stemming from cycles of poverty, trauma, and hopelessness that require more than a political solution.

A Look at the National Landscape

While official data for 2025 is not yet available, recent reports from the FBI and other justice departments show that violent crime remains a concern in specific areas. Historically, violent crime rates have been highest in metropolitan areas where social and economic disparities are most pronounced.

Based on the latest available data, regions with major urban centers have shown the most significant challenges. The seven areas that have recently required the most focused attention and resources include parts of the:
1. South (e.g., specific cities in states like Louisiana, Alabama, and Tennessee)
2. Midwest (e.g., metropolitan areas in Missouri and Illinois)
3. West Coast (e.g., certain urban corridors in California)
4. Southwest (e.g., areas within New Mexico and Arizona)

It is crucial, however, not to stigmatize these regions but to see them as mission fields requiring our urgent prayer and active support.

National Leadership and Our Role

Regardless of the specific plans of any presidential administration, whether it be the current one or a future one like the hypothetical "Tusha administration," the responsibility for peace in our neighborhoods does not rest solely in Washington D.C. Federal policies can provide resources and direction, but true, lasting change is built from the ground up, block by block, heart by heart. Our expectation should not be in politicians, but in the power of God working through His people.

Recommendations for the Church: A Plan for Fall & Winter 2025

How can we, as the body of Christ, be agents of peace and violence prevention in the coming seasons? Here are concrete steps every church can begin planning for now:

1. Become a Community Sanctuary: Open your doors beyond Sunday service. Host after-school programs, provide warm meals, and create safe, supervised spaces where young people can find refuge and positive mentorship.
2. Launch Mental Health Ministries: Partner with Christian counselors to offer accessible mental health and trauma support. Host workshops on anger management, conflict resolution, and healthy relationships, all rooted in biblical principles.
3. Build Bridges with Local Leaders: Initiate partnerships with local law enforcement, schools, and community organizations. Offer to host town halls or "peace summits" where community members can voice concerns and collaborate on solutions.
4. Adopt-A-Block & Prayer Walks: Organize regular prayer walks through high-risk neighborhoods. This does more than just cover the area in prayer—it creates a visible presence of peace and allows church members to build relationships with residents.
5. Focus on Fatherhood and Family Restoration: Many studies link violence to broken homes. Launch ministries focused on supporting single mothers, mentoring young men, and providing resources for family reconciliation and strengthening the biblical family unit.
6. Offer Practical Hope: Create job fairs, financial literacy classes, and skills-training workshops. By addressing the root issues of poverty and hopelessness, we can help prevent the desperation that often leads to crime.

Let's not be passive observers. Let's be the hands and feet of Jesus, bringing His peace to the places that need it most.

Now, October 4th, 2025: What shall we do? It's our time. Kairos Movement into the second quarter of the 21st Century.

Today's Reading: Psalm 13

How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me?
How long must I take counsel in my soul
and have sorrow in my heart all the day?
*How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?

Consider and answer me, O Lord my God; light up my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death, lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed over him,” lest my foes rejoice because I am shaken.

But I have trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.
I will sing to the Lord, because he has dealt bountifully with me.

Thought for the Day: In the deepest darkness, when God feels most distant, a single, deliberate turn of the heart toward trust can ignite the dawn of salvation. (A Salvific Heart - ♰LAR)

Key Verse: Psalm 13:5
"But I have trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation."

Commentary: "How Long, O Lord?"

The raw and desperate cry of Psalm 13—"How long, O Lord?"—is not an ancient, dusty relic of the past. It is a living scream that echoes in the headlines of our newspapers and the private grief of our hearts. We hear it in the anguish of parents whose children have been slaughtered in the very schools where they should have been safest. We hear it in the communities' uproar and sorrow at the brutal murder of public figures like Charlie Kirk, a stark reminder of the fragility of life and the ever-present threat of violence.

Globally, we see this same spirit of turmoil and injustice in the legal battles and court detainment of Dr. Hak Ja Han in South Korea. For the faithful, this is not merely a political or legal issue; it is a spiritual battle where it feels the enemy is exalted, just as the psalmist cried. The question "How long?" rises from the hearts of all who see a woman of God, a leader dedicated to peace, facing such public trial and opposition.

In these moments, faith is tested. It feels as if God has hidden His face. Yet, Psalm 13 is a roadmap through this despair. It gives us permission to cry out, to question, and to feel the full weight of our sorrow. But it does not leave us there. The psalm pivots on a single, powerful word: "But."

"But I have trusted in your steadfast love." This is the turning point. It is a conscious choice to look beyond the present darkness and anchor our hope in the unchanging character of God. The righteous have always faced persecution. Joseph was imprisoned, Daniel was thrown to the lions, Paul and Silas were chained in a dungeon, and even our Lord Jesus was persecuted. But in every case, God was working His ultimate purpose. Prison walls could not stop Reverend Moon, and they will not stop God's providence through True Mother. God is with the grieving families, He is with the shaken communities, and He is with Dr. Han. Though our hearts break, we can rejoice in a salvation that is already secured. God “will” deal bountifully with His people. The righteous shall prevail.

Spiritual Formation in Ahimsa:
Ahimsa is the sacred principle of non-harm and reverence for all life. In a world saturated with violence, practicing Ahimsa is a radical act of spiritual warfare against the forces of darkness. It is not passive weakness but active, divine strength.

1. Purify the Heart: Today, let us guard our hearts against the temptation of rage or a desire for retribution. When we see injustice, our first act must be to surrender our anger to God, asking Him to replace it with His sorrow and His desire for restoration.
2. Speak with Peace: In conversations about these tragic events, let our words be instruments of healing, not division. Avoid language that dehumanizes or demonizes others, even the perpetrators of evil. Speak truth, but always with a spirit of love and a goal of peace.
3. Act with Compassion: Extend prayer and, if possible, tangible support to the victims of violence. At the same time, practice the difficult spiritual discipline of praying for the perpetrators—that their hearts might be broken and turned toward repentance and that the root of such evil may be pulled from our society.

Sacred Prayer (Unification Tradition)

Beloved Heavenly Parent,
We come before You today with hearts that are heavy, echoing the ancient cry, "How long, O Lord?" We see the world You created for joy being scarred by violence and hatred. We weep for the families shattered by the killing of children in their schools, and we feel the shock of communities mourning the loss of their leaders.

We lift up our True Mother, Dr. Hak Ja Han, as she stands with unwavering faith amidst profound trials. Heavenly Parent, be her fortress and her shield. Just as You were with True Father in the prison of Danbury, be with her now. Let the walls of opposition crumble and let Your truth and love be vindicated through her leadership. We declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper, for what You are doing through her cannot be stopped by any human institution.

Even as we lament, we make the conscious choice of the psalmist. We turn our hearts to You and say, "But we have trusted in Your steadfast love." We trust that Your plan is greater than our pain. We hold onto the promise that our hearts *shall* rejoice in Your salvation. We thank You for Your bountiful grace, which is our ultimate victory.

We pledge today to be agents of Your peace and to practice Ahimsa in our hearts, our words, and our actions. May our lives be a testament to Your love that overcomes all evil.

We report and pray all this in our own names as a blessed central family.
Aju. Amen.

Day 7 of 150: READ PSALM 7
“The Righteous Judge and the Shield of Integrity”

Welcome to Day 7 of our 150-day journey, praying through the Psalms against the darkness of terrorism and violent crime. Today, we enter the raw emotion of Psalm 7, a "Shiggaion of David," which likely means a passionate, intense, and deeply felt cry to God. David is being slandered, hunted, and falsely accused. His response is not to lash out in kind, but to run to the courtroom of the Ultimate Judge, laying his case and his very life before the only One whose verdict truly matters.

In a world where terrorism thrives on propaganda, lies, and the twisting of narratives, David’s appeal is our own. We come before God, not with vengeance in our hearts, but with a desperate plea for truth to prevail and for righteousness to be our shield.

Key Verse: Psalm 7:8 (ESV)
"The LORD judges the peoples; judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness and according to the integrity that is in me."

Thought for the Day;
When chaos and malice surround us, our integrity is not just a private virtue; it is our public defense and our confident appeal to the courtroom of Heaven.

Commentary: Your Character as Your Bodyguard

David makes a breathtakingly bold appeal in Psalm 7. He doesn't just ask God to save him; he invites divine scrutiny. He essentially says, "Lord, put me on the witness stand. Examine my life. If I have done the evil things they accuse me of—if I have repaid my friend with evil or plundered my foe without cause—then let my enemy crush me" (vv. 3-5). This is not the statement of a perfect man, but of a man whose conscience is clear on the matter at hand. His integrity is his evidence.

In the face of violent threats and character assassination, David models a profound spiritual truth: righteousness and integrity are our God-given bodyguards. While a physical bodyguard can protect you from an external attack, a character of integrity protects you from internal collapse and gives you standing before God when you are slandered.

Terrorism and violent crime do more than destroy bodies and buildings; they seek to destroy trust, hope, and the moral fabric of society. They tempt us to respond with indiscriminate hatred, to abandon our principles for the sake of security, and to live in paralyzing fear. In this environment, living with integrity—choosing truth over falsehood, justice over revenge, and faith over fear—becomes a powerful act of defiance. It is our spiritual armor. When the world hurls accusations or threats, a life lived uprightly allows us to stand firm, not in self-righteous pride, but in the quiet confidence that we take refuge in a God who "saves the upright in heart" (v. 10). He is our shield, and our integrity is the posture we hold to stand behind it.

Illustration: Transforming Injustice into a Beloved Community

The American Civil Rights Movement, led by figures like the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., provides a powerful illustration of turning a social ill into an opportunity for profound transformation. The movement faced systemic racism, brutal violence, and state-sanctioned terrorism. Lynchings, bombings, and unjust laws were the weapons of their oppressors.

Instead of responding with violence, the movement chose a path of radical integrity rooted in **spiritual formation**. They practiced non-violent resistance, a discipline that required immense courage and moral strength, forged in countless prayer meetings and Bible studies in the safety of their churches (**religious freedom**). Their integrity was their bodyguard; while their bodies were beaten, their spirits and the righteousness of their cause could not be broken.

Dr. King’s sacred prayers were not merely for an end to segregation but for **fairness, forgiveness, and reconciliation**. He prayed for the establishment of a "Beloved Community," where former oppressors and the formerly oppressed could sit down together at the table of brotherhood. They took the social ill of racial hatred and, through a deep commitment to spiritual principles, transformed it into a national movement for moral and social renewal. They demonstrated that the most powerful response to violent injustice is an unshakeable commitment to a higher righteousness, trusting that the arc of the moral universe, under the watch of a Righteous Judge, ultimately bends toward justice.

A Sacred Prayer for Fairness, Forgiveness, and Reconciliation

O Lord, our God, the Righteous Judge of all the earth, we run to You for refuge. When we are pursued by violence and slandered by hatred, You are our stronghold and our shield.

We bring before You the victims of terror and violent crime—those who have been falsely accused, unjustly attacked, and grievously wounded. Vindicate them, Lord. Be their defender and their comfort. Judge us, O God, according to the righteousness and integrity that You are building within us through Your Spirit. Fortify our character, so that we may stand firm in the face of fear and falsehood.

Where there is injustice, we cry out for Your divine **fairness**. Let the schemes of the wicked come to an end, and make the righteous secure. Expose the plots hatched in darkness and bring them to nothing, for You test the mind and heart.

Where bitterness and vengeance threaten to consume us, grant us the supernatural grace of **forgiveness**. Help us release the perpetrators into Your hands for judgment, not to condone their evil, but to free our own hearts from the prison of hatred.

Where walls of division, suspicion, and animosity stand tall, empower us to be agents of **reconciliation**. Teach us to build bridges, to seek understanding, and to work tirelessly for a peace founded on Your justice and truth. Turn the evil intentions of the violent into an opportunity for Your Church to display a more excellent way—the way of love.

We trust that the one who digs a pit for another will fall into it themselves. We rest in Your ultimate justice and praise Your holy name.

In the name of the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ, Holy Blessed Families pray. Amen. Aju

Men on the Move & Women in the Groove

Day 5 of our journey! ☀️
Today, we're finding strength in Psalm 5—a morning prayer that aligns our hearts with God before we face the brokenness of the world.

Before the news, notifications, and noise of the day, Psalm 5 invites us to make God our first conversation. It’s our first and most powerful act against the darkness.

"In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly." (Psalm 5:3)

What are you laying before Him today?

Let this be our prayer today: "O Lord, my King and my God, to You I lift my voice." May we find peace and direction as we start our day with YHWH.

🕊️ A Call for Reflection: Reconsidering the Death Penalty🕊️

As the Commission on Nonviolence, we urge you to prayerfully reconsider the use of the death penalty in our nation. In 2024 alone, we have witnessed the ex*****on of individuals whose lives were taken by the state, each with a unique story and family left behind. These events call for deep reflection on our values and the systems we uphold.

The cost of executing a person is staggering. Studies have shown that the financial burden of capital punishment far exceeds that of life imprisonment without parole. For example, a single ex*****on can cost taxpayers over $1 million when considering legal fees, incarceration, and appeals. In contrast, maintaining an inmate in a maximum-security prison for life can average approximately $40,000-$60,000 per year.

Let’s put this into perspective:

- Cost of Ex*****on: Approximately $1 million (over the entire process, including trials and appeals)
- Lifetime Incarceration: Roughly $1.5 to $2 million (over 25-40 years)

While it may seem that executing someone is a one-time expense, the reality is that maintaining someone in prison could be more cost-effective in the long run. This is not just a financial issue but a moral one.

We believe in justice, but we must also advocate for mercy and compassion. Let us work together to end the cycle of violence and seek restorative forms of justice that honor the dignity of all individuals.

Join us in this critical conversation. Share your thoughts, pray for those affected, and consider advocating for a more humane approach to justice in our country.

Our Story

The American Clergy Leadership Conference (ACLC), founded during May of 2000 in Korea, when 120 clergy gathered to affirm the vision given by God to Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon to unify the Body of Christ. In keeping with its original purpose, ACLC is a coalition of clergy working to strengthen marriages, rebuild families, restore communities, and renew the nation and the world. Headquartered at 481 8th Avenue in New York City, the coalition intends to uphold the validity of the United States of America as a shining nation of freedom, faith, harmony and prosperity. Clergy of the American Clergy Leadership Conference share the hope of leading all humankind into becoming One Family under God. A leadership coalition in the Providence of God, on December 28, 2019, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, Mother of Peace, commission the leaders of ACLC as members of the steering committee of the World Clergy Leadership Conference, which she launched in New Jersey on the same evening.

The Marriage Blessing is central to the mission given rebuilding the “true family” of God’s original intent before the Human Fall described in the Biblical Book of Genesis. American Clergy. who have been blessed in marriage through the Theology of True Parents, might offer the Blessing to members of their congregations through a well defined education process, and they might invite their membership to a National American Clergy Leadership Conference “Blessing Event”. so all might receive the Marriage Blessing of Restoration. As an active participant in the American Clergy Leadership Conference, leaders might be invited to journey to Korea and learn more about the experience of the Holy Spirit working through this blessed clergy coalition.

Leading the American Clergy Leadership Conference are:

National Co-chairman +Dr. Ki Hoon Kim...Since 1974, Archbishop Ki Hoon Kim has had extensive experience ministering in churches and on college campuses. He is the founder and inspiration for the True Family Values Banquet which annually brings together over 1,000 leaders of the clergy, business and political communities in Chicago.
