Tuesday, October 22 @ 6:30pm - Healing Through Art and the Art of Healing

Celebrate Sukkot with Sisterhood and explore the transformative role of Israeli art after October 7th, analyzing how artists use creativity for healing and resilience. Through these works, we will gain insights into trauma, memory, and recovery in Israeli society. Presented by Rabbi Melissa Buyer-Witman. A special art exhibit honoring the individuals kidnapped by Hamas will be on display in the Chapel. No fee for WLC members, $18 for non-members.

This year, Making Strides events will take place in more than 150 communities nationwide! The American Cancer Society (ACS) raises funds for lifesaving breast cancer research and is committed to advancing health equity through essential programs and services.

As part of Temple's Israel's 150th Anniversary Celebration, last weekend's Jewish Harlem Walking Tour brought together 40 congregation and Sisterhood members to learn about the Jews of Harlem, Religious Jewish Life, and Historic landmarks including the early 1900s site of Temple Israel. Thanks to Rabbi David Gelfand, Cantor Irena Altshul, Eugenia James-Edwards, and the entire TI staff, as well as tour guide .
