Last night, the phenomenal graced our chapel stage with a truly remarkable performance. The chemistry between the quartet members, their unique and profound phrasing, and the incredible music they shared with us left our spirits abuzz with excitement as we made our journeys home.

Our classical series continues with Boyd Meets Girl on March 19 and Sam Gray and Ben Nylander on March 26—two more opportunities to experience world-class musicians in the intimate setting of our chapel. Get you tickets at the link in our bio!

On March 12 at 7:30pm, the acclaimed  comes to West End Church with “Maverick Voices,” a program pairing Beethoven’s groundbreaking String Quartet in B-flat major, Op. 130 with Derrick Skye’s vibrant “Deliverance.”

Praised by The Strad for their “tremendous heart and beauty” and named the Julliard Resident String Quartet from 2022-2024, the quartet is known for bringing fresh perspectives to beloved masterworks.

All are welcome—this concert is open to people of every faith, background, and level of musical knowledge. Come enjoy a powerful night of music in an intimate setting!

Our Lenten Classical Concert Series brings three extraordinary chamber music performances to the chapel stage, each offering a distinct and compelling musical journey. Hear the Ivalas Quartet in Maverick Voices, pairing Beethoven’s monumental String Quartet No. 13 with a transcultural work blending Persian melody and African rhythms. Experience the acclaimed cello and guitar duo Boyd Meets Girl in Present Tense, an intimate program that bridges classical masterworks and contemporary song, culminating in Radiohead’s haunting reflection. And delight in the color and contrast of Sam Gray and Ben Nylander’s Comedy & Reverie, a virtuosic violin, viola, and piano recital that moves from playful brilliance to lyrical depth.

If you love world-class chamber music performed up close in an intimate setting, this series was designed for you!

This week of Lent, we’re sitting with the question: How to Follow? Not with quick answers or step-by-step instructions, but with the deeper invitation to become who God created us to be — practicing, learning, failing, confessing, growing… together.

As we move toward Easter, we’re asking the big questions of faith — and trusting that the way forward begins with honest worship and attentive hearts.

Questions for the Journey

This Lent, we’re gathering for weekly conversations that explore what it really means to follow Jesus — thoughtfully, honestly, and in real time. Each week, we reflect on one of the big questions at the heart of discipleship and consider how it shapes our faith and our life together.

We start off the series with the question, “When.”

Such a joyful night celebrating Mardi Gras with our church family! 💜💛💚

We played games (including some very competitive Lent trivia), enjoyed delicious wings and king cake, and fully embraced the spirit of the season by dressing up in true Mardi Gras style.

Congratulations to our Mardi Gras Royalty, Immy and Sarah! 👑

We’re incredibly grateful to the amazing staff who made the evening happen — and especially to our program manager, Mariel, who led the charge and handled every detail with such care and dedication. What a gift to be part of a community that knows how to celebrate together!

Welcome to West End

We’re delighted you’re here and we look forward to getting to know you.

West End Collegiate Church is one of five ministries comprising the historic Collegiate Reformed Protestant Dutch Church of the City of New York. Founded in 1628, Collegiate is the oldest continually worshipping Protestant church in the country. Loving God and called to serve our neighbor, the ministry of West End Church began in 1892 to welcome the growing population of the Upper West Side.

Today, we are a neighborhood church for all people, ministering to our ever-changing city in the name of our all-changing God. We are young and old, of many races and abilities, of various genders and sexualities, people on journeys and people longing to put down roots. We see our diversity as an expression of God’s immense imagination, and we value hospitality, inclusivity, and equity. The Collegiate Churches are dually affiliated with the Reformed Church in America (RCA) and the United Church of Christ (UCC). Whoever you are, and wherever you are on life’s journey, you are entirely welcome here.
