Pinch-me moments like this don’t happen every day!

As one chapter closed yesterday morning, another opened almost immediately—
what began as a conversation with Dr. Matthew T. Lee (Baylor University / Harvard University) about his work on Love & Human Flourishing became an impromptu podcast recording at his suggestion.

These are the moments I feel most alive—
when curiosity meets generosity,
when scholarship meets humility,
and when love is taken seriously as a formative force in leadership and human flourishing.

I’m deeply grateful for Dr. Lee’s openness, intellectual rigor, and collaborative spirit—and excited for the fruit we’ll co-create in the days ahead.

Honestly, I could listen to this dialogue on repeat.

ā€œLove is such a dynamic force isn't it? It is the most inexplicable and yet the most beautiful force in life... Isn't love too ineffable to be grasped by the cold calculating heads of intellect?ā€
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. To Coretta Scott, 1952

Having studied King in seminary, this still is one of my most favorite of his writings. It illustrates for me the emotional maturity, vulnerability, intimacy, and intellectual engagement inherent in the relationship between Martin and Coretta, particularly his willingness to be influenced by her, as well as, the expressed creative and poetic heart of Dr. King.

ā€œI must thank you a million times for introducing me to such a stimulating book you are sweet and thoughtful indeed.ā€

May you be inspired by love this King Day!

This birthday felt like emergence.

Not loud or performative—
but warm, intentional, and true.

It was designed joy:
morning silence and prayer,
movement and breath,
words written by hand,
candles lit at dusk,
walks among snow-covered trees,
sunsets that paused time itself,
and a little indulgence—a chocolate crunchies ice cream cake honoring the girl I’ve always been.

It was friendship practiced with devotion—
cards chosen with care,
flowers offered freely,
calls crossing oceans and time zones,
voices saying, you matter, without needing to be asked.

It was V***e and sliders,
a cocktail as passionate as my spirit,
laughter that lingered long after the plates were cleared,
and conversations that stayed open until the lights came up.

It was also memory made present—
rituals that transcend life itself,
reminding me of the love that remains and guides me forward.

This is what love looks like to me now:
presence without performance,
generosity without prompting,
celebration without ambiguity.

I’m learning to design my life around what brings warmth, truth, beauty, and joy—
and to trust that what is emerging does not need to be rushed or defended.

Grateful for another year of becoming.
Grateful for family and friends who know how to love well. šŸ„‚šŸ«¶šŸ½šŸ„³šŸ”šŸŽ‚

Stewarding Your Story Is a Leadership Practice

Last week I submitted an Electronic Press Kit—a first for me—and it reminded me that solopreneurship is as much about formation as it is about output.

When you’re the thought leader, practitioner, researcher, and convener, you’re not just building offerings—you’re learning how to share your story with integrity, creating a container big enough for the work you’re called to do.

I’m grateful for tools like that help bring structure and beauty to a vision, and for Nmadinobi ChloĆ© Nwangwu, The Brand Scientistā„¢ for nudging me to explore talkadot as a way to thoughtfully share media and message.

Most of all, I’m grateful for colleagues and mentors who offered generous, honest feedback—helping me sharpen my voice, honor the journey, and steward the story I’ve been given. None of this happens alone.

If you create or book spaces exploring loving leadership, culture transformation, emotional intelligence, calling, or the spiritual journey of becoming, feel free to connect.
