This birthday felt like emergence.
Not loud or performativeā
but warm, intentional, and true.
It was designed joy:
morning silence and prayer,
movement and breath,
words written by hand,
candles lit at dusk,
walks among snow-covered trees,
sunsets that paused time itself,
and a little indulgenceāa chocolate crunchies ice cream cake honoring the girl Iāve always been.
It was friendship practiced with devotionā
cards chosen with care,
flowers offered freely,
calls crossing oceans and time zones,
voices saying, you matter, without needing to be asked.
It was V***e and sliders,
a cocktail as passionate as my spirit,
laughter that lingered long after the plates were cleared,
and conversations that stayed open until the lights came up.
It was also memory made presentā
rituals that transcend life itself,
reminding me of the love that remains and guides me forward.
This is what love looks like to me now:
presence without performance,
generosity without prompting,
celebration without ambiguity.
Iām learning to design my life around what brings warmth, truth, beauty, and joyā
and to trust that what is emerging does not need to be rushed or defended.
Grateful for another year of becoming.
Grateful for family and friends who know how to love well. š„š«¶š½š„³šš
