The City Of Grace Making a difference in our City by connecting with God and one another! Williams in 1994 through humble beginnings in the living room. Bishop Melda B. R.

The Legacy Began...

More Grace Redemptive Center (formerly named Mission On The Move For Christ) was founded by Bishop Melda B. Williams has always been a woman with a vision from God. While serving on the Ministerial board of her former home church (Brooklyn Tabernacle Deliverance Center, under the leadership of Late Dr. C. Johnson and Bishop James Copeland), she heard the voice of God calling h

er to tend to his sheep. However, it was not until the year 1994, while on a house visit that Mission on the Move For Christ was given birth to. After its initial birth, the Ministry continued to strive and grow while doing numerous house visits. Within one year of growth, God took us on a further step, allowing us to host services in a local Day Care Center. This Day Care Center served as the home of this vibrant Ministry for one year. However, as we continued to grow, God afforded us the opportunity to obtain a building of our own. This building is our current home, located at 646 Parkside Avenue in Brooklyn, New York. We are a ministry on the move with More Grace to Redeem the lost souls for God. Currently we have over 20 outreach ministries, which include Street Ministries, Youth Ministry, Men’s Ministry, Women’s Ministry and a Food Pantry which serves over 250 families weekly. We have established an accredited Bible School & Seminary which not only services the United States of America but has also extended to the United Kingdom. We are a ministry with a heart for missions and have been on several international missionary trips (India, Santo Domingo, Trinidad and Guyana) as well as extensive travel across the United States through our Bishop and Pastor. The Legacy Continues...

As the ministry expanded into a reformation, Pastor David and Michele Lawe, (who have worked very closely in ministry with our Founder) were installed as the Senior Pastors of More Grace Redemptive Center. Under their leadership, the vision expands to include: a Charter School (for pre-school through elementary), a Community Youth Center, a Prison Ministry, an Orphanage in Africa (Grace’s House) and a Half-Way House in Brooklyn, New York. Pastor David O. Lawe has been on the radio with his radio broadcast “A New Sound” in Brooklyn on WWHT 107.9 FM.

“The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;” (Matthew 9:37).

Our Story

THE LEGACY BEGAN...

The City of Grace (formerly known as More Grace Redemptive Center) has a rich history that spans almost three decades. It was founded by Bishop Melda B. Williams in 1994 under the name Mission on the Move for Christ with only 40 members in her living room. Within a few short months, the membership outgrew the living room and the services were moved to Flatbush Action Day Care Center. However, the Holy Spirit was moving as he promised to do a quick work and within 6 months, the service attendants far exceeded the building capacity. The church obtained a building located a 646 Parkside avenue. At this location, many signs, wonders and miracles happened within the two decades of ministry (1996 to 2017.)

THE LEGACY CONTINUES...

The City of Grace has come a long way with the help of the Lord and three great leaders of God. In 2012, the establishmentarian, Bishop Melda B. Williams, transferred the executive leadership of the church to Pastors David and Michele Lawe. Under their leadership, the ministry thrived and saw an increase in membership from 75 active members to over 300 active members and over 20 active ministries including a Food pantry that serves over 200 community members weekly, and series of practical life classes whose goal is to minister holistically. Additionally, a second location in Kingston, Jamaica was established in July of 2016 and the church was able to purchase a permanent building without acquiring any debt. A third location, Shiloh’s House in Fort Lauderdale, Florida was engrafted into the City of Grace Coalition of churches.
