KJ’s Rabbi Meyer Laniado recently moderated the opening panel of the 2026 Sephardic Rabbinic Conference in New York, bringing together leading rabbis from across the Sephardic world for a conversation on “The Role of the Sephardic Rabbi Today.”

The discussion explored a question at the heart of Sephardic Jewish life today: What are the “load-bearing” elements of our tradition that must be carried forward in order for Sephardic Judaism to remain vibrant and generative for the next generation?

The panel considered the relationship between inherited minhagim and their meaning, intellectual frameworks and modes of thought, communal belonging, rabbinic leadership, and the challenge of transmitting a living tradition in a rapidly changing world.

We are proud to see Rabbi Laniado representing KJ and contributing to this important international conversation about the future of Sephardic Jewish life.

Zohran Mamdani's hypocrisy is showing.

Asked three times by reporters about Carmella Charrington, the newly elected Brooklyn district leader, Mamdani refused to answer.

Charrington has publicly promoted Henry Ford's antisemitic book *The International Jew*, the Swedish neo-Nazi film "Europa: The Last Battle," and the Holocaust denial tracts of Fred Leuchter.

Only after Jewish Insider reported on his silence did his office issue a statement.

One would think condemning an antisemitic politician would be a no-brainer.

But it wasn't. And the haters will take notice.

For those seduced by his soothing words on antisemitism, remember this: he regularly defends the Jew-baiting remarks of people like Carmella Charrington and Hasan Piker.

Mamdani's words are worthless.
