Soon we celebrate Rosh Hashana with our loved ones, hoping for a better year ahead. Shana Tova! שנה טובה. In this season of hope, I wanted to share my new Fall newsletter, ‘A Season of Healing,’ – read, print, enjoy! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Py8eKvtDrvEWLBcMCz0EVvas5OhS_nDo/view?usp=sharing –
The newsletter shares observations from my practices of making art, and of teaching Hebrew, both that I love very much.
Making art heals. Looking at art heals. I want to encourage each of you to find your inner art creativity! What was remarkable in each of my three art workshops this year was the shared joy of the participants. ‘Given a permission’ to find their own creativity, the artworks made (‘Healing Amulets’ at Central Synagogue ‘Telling a Family Story’ at Temple Emanu-El) were moving, beautiful, and healing for many.
You may also enjoy images from my two current NYC art exhibits, Between Earth and Heaven: Art Inspired by Nature (122 Grand Street, Soho, through October 16th, at Margalit Startup City and at Central Synagogue, The Art of Healing: Protective Magic (through late October). Let me know if you are interested to join my art tours of these exhibits after Rosh Hashana. And you are always invited to visit my home studio at the Upper West Side!
Healing through the study of Hebrew: Learning Hebrew is healing! In these challenging times for our community, many have shown an increased interest in belonging and participation. I have observed a growing interest in the study of Hebrew as a way of active engagement in Judaism and in the support of Israel. Maybe this year you will finally master your Hebrew? I’ll be your trainer! You Can Do It!
