Hillel at Baruch

Hillel at Baruch Our mission is to enrich the lives of Jewish students at Baruch College so they may enrich the Jewish people and the world.

Hillel seeks to engage every Jewish university student, from those with strong Jewish backgrounds to those with none at all. They may take advantage of Hillel’s leadership opportunities, travel experiences, Israel education and advocacy, Jewish spiritual and intellectual enrichment, holiday services, volunteer and charitable projects, and more. By creating warm, supportive Jewish communities, Hill

el encourages emerging adults to take ownership of their Jewish experience and define “Jewish” their own way. Success is gauged not only by the number of attendees at an event, but also by the depth and breadth of meaningful relationships and experiences.

🇮🇱 Our Hillel Volunteer Trip has officially landed in Israel!

Today, students headed north to Haifa, where they helped clear and prepare a play area for foster children. We then visited a Druze village, experienced their incredible hospitality, and learned how to make traditional knafeh.

Shavua Tov from our Hillel Birthright Trip in Israel! ☀️🇮🇱

We kicked off the week in Tiberias with ATV adventures, beautiful water hikes, and incredible views of the Galilee. After an action-packed first few days, we enjoyed a peaceful and meaningful Shabbat together in the north.

Today, we headed to a winery to experience another side of Israel’s beauty and culture. The journey continues, and we can’t wait to share more from our adventure across Israel! 💙✨

🇮🇱 WE’VE LANDED!

Our Birthright Israel trip has officially arrived in Israel, and the adventure is just beginning! Over the next 10 days, our students will travel from north to south, explore Israel’s history and culture, make lifelong friendships, and create memories they’ll never forget.

Follow along as they experience the journey of a lifetime across Israel! ✈️💙

More than an end of year reception.
More than a goodbye.

Our Hillel became a home.

A place where students found community, pride, leadership, friendship, purpose, and family. A place where we showed up for each other, for Israel, and for Jewish life, louder and stronger than ever before.

Last night, we celebrated our graduating seniors, honored the incredible impact of Ryan, Sasha, and Rafael as they begin their journeys home to Israel, remembered Jonathan Leader z״l, and reflected on everything we built together this year across our campuses.

In a year filled with challenges, our students chose courage, joy, and community. And this is only the beginning. 💙

Am Yisrael Chai.

As the CUNY PSC Faculty Union held a vote against Hillel, which ultimately failed, we responded the only way we know how: by BEING MORE JEWISH AND CELEBRATING ISRAEL’S 78th BIRTHDAY 🇮🇱🤍🥳

Our last WINGS event of the year ✨🪽

We closed out the semester with a Charm Bar 💎 where students created bracelets, necklaces, and earrings using charms that reflect their identity, story, and what matters most to them 🫶

The perfect way to end an amazing year together 🌟

Today, we gathered to commemorate Yom HaSho’ah, Israel’s Holocaust Remembrance Day, a time to honor the six million Jews who were murdered and to remember their lives and stories.

We had the privilege of hearing from Holocaust survivor Andrew Szabo. His testimony is not just history, it a responsibility to listen, remember, and carry it forward.

Thank you, , for coming to speak with our Hillel community.

After everything you endured, your willingness to stand in front of a room full of students and share your story is something we will carry with us for a long time.

Your strength reminded us that being Jewish is not something we shrink, it’s something we step into.
With pride. With resilience. With unity.

Because now more than ever, we choose to BE MORE JEWISH! 🇮🇱
