All Souls NYC

All Souls NYC We are a welcoming Unitarian Universalist community for spiritual growth, justice, and service in New York City. 🌟 Join us Sundays at 11:15 am!

We are a LGBTQ+ Welcoming Congregation, dedicated to creating a world of justice and equity for everyone. In the experience of worship, we gather to contemplate the mystery of God, interpret the wisdom of religion, and explore the insights of science. Our purpose is to awaken our sense of the sacred and renew our resolve to transform ourselves and our world. As human beings, we all emerge from the

same Source and share the same Destiny. As a community of faith, we make shared commitments and offer mutual support. As individuals, we each bear responsibility for our own beliefs and actions. We practice a discipline of gratitude, by which we acknowledge our utter dependence on the people and world around us, and we practice an ethic of gratitude, by which we accept our obligation to nurture others, and to pursue justice for all living beings.

Two (of many) reasons to join us this Sunday! 🎉
✨ During worship at 11:15 AM, our Coming of Age youth will share their personal credo statements—thoughtful reflections on the values and beliefs that guide them. We'll also honor our graduating youth in the Bridging Ceremony.

📚 Then at Coffee Hour, be among the first to hear this fall's Big Read announcement: North Woods by Daniel Mason. Enjoy a reading by our own Drama Desk Award-winning actor Dana Ivey, a special treat, and the chance to pick up a discounted copy for summer reading before we dive in together this fall.

Whether you're searching for community, meaning, good questions, or a good book, there's a place for you here! 🫶✨📚

Rev. Pamela Patton guides us in a reflection on connection: with those we love easily, those who challenge us, and the widening circle of human belonging that holds us all.

For seekers, spiritually curious people, community builders, and anyone longing for a more connected way of being in the world.

🎶🙏A BIG thank you to our Sanctuary Choir, Community Choir, instrumentalists, directors, and all the musicians who filled All Souls NYC with beauty, power, inspiration, and joy this year!

Week after week, your music created space for us to breathe more deeply, reflect more honestly, grieve, celebrate, reconnect, and remember we are not alone. In a fractured world, making music together is no small thing.

As our choirs head into a well-earned summer break, we’re grateful for this season of song and look forward to welcoming an incredible lineup of guest soloists throughout the summer months.

💕For All the Mothers💕
For all the mothers and mother figures
The grandmothers, aunts, and extended family members who mother
The soon-to-be mothers, the wish-they-were mothers, the never-wanted-to-be mothers, the “it’s complicated” mothers
The birth mothers, foster mothers, adoptive mothers, stepmothers
The “used to be Dad” mothers and “more than one Mom” mothers
The single mothers, separated mothers, stay-at-home mothers, unhoused mothers
The grieving mothers, those who grieve their mothers, and those whose grief is complex
For all the communities that mother
And for all who depend on the Great Mother
You are held — and beloved.

From the Unitarian Universalist Association: “Ours is a non-creedal church—not because we have no beliefs, but because we will not be restrained in our beliefs.”
— John A. Buehrens, A Chosen Faith: An Introduction to Unitarian Universalism

In a world that often asks for certainty, Unitarian Universalism makes room for curiosity. We gather not because we agree on everything, but because we trust the shared work of seeking—together.

Our beliefs aren’t fixed. They evolve with new understanding, new relationships, and a deepening commitment to justice. Freedom of belief doesn’t mean anything goes; it calls us to be accountable for what we believe and how those beliefs shape our lives.

May we remain open to growth, and grounded in the freedom to believe, question, and change.

Stand on the side of love! 💖🏳️‍🌈

On June 28, Unitarian Universalists from across NYC will join together to march in Pride – but we need your help to make it happen! Join our general information meeting on Sunday, April 26 at 7pm (register here to receive the Zoom link: https://forms.gle/U6YE5aNwwZvoGc4i9).

If you can help in any way – gathering supplies, making signs, coordinating transportation, singing songs, and more – please join the planning call! This will ensure we’re all on the same page as we coordinate UU congregations across the city in marching together!

If you have any questions, please contact Karishma Gottfried, Intern Minister at the Community Church of New York: [email protected]. See you there!
