From its inception on August 3, 1997, Grace Deliverance Tabernacle was destined to be. After years of evangelism, Bishop Mervin Harding started the ministry at 1101 East 35th St, with 65 individuals. It was in that service that the Holy Spirit again confirmed His word, that this was the path He was leading Bishop Harding. Since then Grace has spiritually moved to a level of excellence. In October
of 1997 Our 1st Church Van was purchased. In the year 1998 we had our first two water baptism services in which a total of 15 individuals were baptized. Bishop Harding wanted to reach those beyond the pulpit and in March 1999 started Grace Deliverance Gospel Hour- a gospel radio program which aired every Monday night on WPAT 930AM stereo with an emphasis on deliverance. GDGH has won many accolades as being the most dynamic gospel radio program. On account of the radio program, many have testified of their deliverances and have been led to the ministry. The attendance was evident in our Prayer and Deliverance Services. God led us in prayer and fasting and in June 2000, Grace Deliverance moved to her new home at 1330 Utica Ave. We had come thus far by faith. It was there our attendance tripled and we started to gather the fruits of faith. Another Church bus was purchased due to the growth of our Sunday School Ministry. It was here we waited in prayer and fasting as God showered more of his blessings upon us. God tried us, molded us, and proved our work and saw our faithfulness. We had 7 Sundays of Blood Sundays, where everyone wore RED (of course) as we went in fasting before God. But unknown to us, there was yet another miracle in the process. The scripture says, “Delight thyself also in the Lord and He will give you the desires of thine heart.” God had given us favor. Out of this miracle came the purchase of 650 Remsen Ave. Years before pastor would come to Utica Ave, he saw Remsen Ave, and like many others desired to have the building for a church. But as the word of the God says the blessing will overtake you. It will come looking for you. For in February 2005 Remsen Ave, yes this present location was placed in our hands by God as he used many as instruments to bring forth His plans. Today we have Grace Deliverance Radio, 92.1FM, a community broadcast station which began on November 1, 2010, and is accessible globally through the World Wide Web at www.gdradio.org and via telephone at 712-432-4463. This year as we celebrate 20 years of ministry, we can truly say, To God be the glory! Today we can say, God remains faithful, we will continue to walk the way of the Lord as we have yet to receive all He has in store for us.
