¿QVO VADIS DÓMINE?

Cuenta la tradición, que en el año 64 comenzó una persecución contra los cristianos y Pedro, temeroso de lo que pudiera sucederle, escapa de Roma por la Vía Apia. En el camino se encuentra con Jesucristo que iba cargando una cruz.

Pedro, al verlo, le pregunta:
-«Quo vadis Domine» (¿Adónde vas, Señor?) a lo que Cristo contesta:
-«Romam vado iterum crucifigi» («Voy hacia Roma para ser crucificado de nuevo»).

Pedro, avergonzado de su actitud, vuelve a Roma a continuar su ministerio, siendo posteriormente martirizado y crucificado cabeza abajo.

Según la tradición, en una pequeña iglesia a las afueras de Roma, se conserva las huellas de Cristo de ese día.

Cuenta la Tradición que Pedro abandonaba Roma ante la insistencia de varios de sus amigos, con el fin de resguardarse tras la persecución desencadenada contra los cristianos, a quienes el Emperador Nerón había culpado del incendio de la ciudad en el año 64 D.C.

En su huida por la Vía Apia, se encontró con Jesús, que iba en dirección contraria, cargando la cruz, a lo que Pedro le preguntó: "Quo vadis, Domine?", es decir, "¿A Dónde vas, Señor?", y Jesús le contestó: "Mi pueblo en Roma te necesita, si abandonas a mis ovejas yo iré a Roma para ser crucificado de nuevo".

Avergonzado, Pedro regresó a Roma para estar con la Iglesia perseguida, por lo que posteriormente fue apresado y crucificado cabeza abajo, dando testimonio de Jesucristo.

Our speaker will be our very special priest Fr. Jean Paul Soler (JP), sharing with us the topic of Verdict of a Soul: Hell, Purgatory, & Heaven. Part of our believe is that once our time has come we depart and join one of these places, however: Have you ever wonder why do these places exist?, What happens to our soul once we get there?, What difference does each one make for our eternity?
