As we enter the third week of Elul, we reflect on the melody and meaning of the Untaneh Tokef, reminding us that as we chant these words together, the prayer offers us an opportunity to share in one another’s grief and joy, worry and hope. As we consider the year ahead, we are reminded that we do not do so alone, but in the embrace of God and a loving community.
