From NYS Homes and Community Renewal: New York City Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Waitlist Lottery

Applications are open today through May 28th at 11:59pm. The program provides rent subsidies for eligible low-income households including those that are homeless or have senior or disabled members.
As demand for vouchers exceeds supply, HCR maintains an active waitlist for households interested in the program. Through this open lottery, 15,000 applicants will be randomly selected to be added to HCR’s New York City waitlist.
Applicants added to the waitlist will be contacted by HCR to verify eligibility as vouchers become available. Priority will be given to households at-risk of or experiencing homelessness, households who identify as elderly and/or disabled, and households with dependent children.
Eligible applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
• Must be 18 years of age or older, or an emancipated minor;
• Must meet federal income eligibility guidelines based on household size;
• At least one member of the applicant’s household must be a U.S. citizen, a legal permanent resident or have another eligible immigration status.
Applicants who currently reside outside of New York City must reside within New York City for the first twelve months after receiving a voucher.
Apply at

Applicants must apply while the waitlist is open. HCR will select 15,000 households for the waitlist through a lottery. 02/21/2021

To my brothers & sisters in Christ. I want you to be encouraged in celebrating your opportunity to celebrate Black History month. There are many that till this day do not have the opportunity to do so even with laws in place. Be proud of your multifaceted color, your hair that defies gravity and your body. Your very being which was created in his image and originated in the heart of history’s greatest ghost writer better known as Mother Africa. Many have marched, fought and worked hard for us to make it this far.
So whenever you feel as if you can’t and you don’t have the courage to go on. Remember, God does NOT give us the spirit of fear “ 2 Timothy 1:7 and “Greater is he that is in me, than he that is in the world....” 1 John 4:4 With all that being said, continue to stay cloaked in the word, with your head held high. Put on the full armor of God, continue to fight for equality, for your voice to be heard and dedicate yourself to being a good and faithful servant of the Lord.
