Lincoln Square Synagogue

Lincoln Square Synagogue The community of members, friends and alumni of Lincoln Square Synagogue

From its humble beginnings in 1964, in an apartment on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, Lincoln Square Synagogue (LSS) has grown into an institution that has been a model for Modern Orthodox Judaism.

51 teenage boys were moments away from death inside a gas chamber at Auschwitz. Then, the doors reopened.

This is Hershl - known as Heshy - one of the original surviving boys, now pictured at his grandson’s wedding. ❤️

Join Author and Executive Producer Rabbi Naftali Schiff for a powerful screening and conversation about the untold story behind Undeniable: The Boys Who Escaped Gas Chamber 5.

From Auschwitz to future generations - this is a story that must be seen.

Looking back at our Tekes Ma’avar, marking the transition from Yom Hazikaron into Yom Ha'atzmaut 🤍🕯️

We had the great honor of collaborating with other local synagogues to host the Upper West Side Jewish community for this year’s incredible event.

From quiet reflection to joyful celebration, it was a night that captured the strength, unity, and heart of our community. 🇮🇱💙

Today, we stand together in remembrance. 🕯️

On Yom HaShoah, we pause to remember the 6 million Jews who were murdered in the Holocaust.

Each one was a life, a story, a world.

We honor their memory by refusing to forget. 💙

An empty Kotel feels unsettling.

In moments like this, we turn to tefillah. We pray for the safety of Israel, for the brave chayalim protecting our homeland, and for peace and strength for the Jewish people everywhere.

We stand with the Iranian people who long for freedom and safety, and we pray for a future of stability and dignity for all.

We thank Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu and President Donald Trump for their efforts to advance a plan that prioritizes security and stability in an increasingly dangerous world. May better days be ahead.

Am Yisrael Chai 💙
